A moment with the Lenz family! Topeka, KS Family Portrait Photographers


 So this is Philip and Alexandra Lenz along with their two kids Canon and Gershwin. I've never seen a dachshund with that sort of marking before. It was really cool. Both dogs are adorable and spunky! Philip and Alexandra are owners and photographers of Lenz Photography and have come to Kansas on multiple occasions to help us. Once for a wedding, and several other times to help with sessions. It's always fun when they're here and most recently they joined us for our recent micro session event where we shot lots of families. It was a great success and many wonderful photos were taken. This is the first time we had a chance to meet their dogs, which were super fun. Midday through our micro sessions, we had a quick break, so I wanted to do some shots of them real fast; literally probably took 60 seconds. Now we're just trying to figure out when we'll have them back!

    Love it!!! Thanks for taking these pictures and having us out again...hope to do it again soon!! The licking shots are hilarious, btw!! Haha. Love all of them :)

Sweet little Wyatt was in the studio for his newborn session, and what a joy he was to photograph. Mom told me he weighed over nine pounds at birth, and he was definitely a chunk! Interview with Sadie Craig - West Franklin High School Class of 2027 - Topeka's Best Senior Portraits

Senior sessions like Sadie's are the ones that really get my creative side going. She has such a unique style, and from the moment she showed me examples of the kinds of photos she loved, I knew this wasn't going to be a typical senior session. She was drawn to dramatic, cinematic, and darker images, and I couldn't wait to bring those ideas to life. Of course, we made sure to capture the classic smiling portraits everyone loves, but some of my favorite images from her session were the ones where we pushed ourselves creatively with dramatic lighting, movement, interesting posing, and a little bit of artistic storytelling. Interview with Juan Morales - Highland Park High School Class of 2027 - Topeka's Best Senior Portraits

We had a great time photographing Juan from Highland Park High School for his senior portraits. We started at the Capitol and got some really nice photos around the grounds before heading over to the Governor's Mansion. What made this session a little different is that we photographed everything right in the middle of the day. Normally, we like to include some country locations closer to sunset, but the light worked out beautifully and we were able to create some amazing images throughout the entire session. Juan was a lot of fun to photograph. He has a great personality, is very easy to talk to, and is naturally photogenic. The session seemed to fly by as we spent a lot of time talking about his plans after high school and some of the things he enjoys doing. Kinslee's Newborn Session - Interview with Mom - Topeka's Best Newborn Photographers

We recently had the pleasure of photographing sweet little Kinslee, and what a fun session it was! Mom and Dad were so excited to capture this special time in their lives, and their joy was easy to see throughout the entire session. Kinslee was absolutely adorable and seemed to love being in front of the camera. She even gave us a few precious little smiles and smirks that made everyone in the room melt. One of our favorite parts of the session was watching Mom and Dad with their baby girl. Every little thing Kinslee did brought big smiles to their faces, and it was clear how much they adore her. Interview with Nate Leeper - Hayden High School Class of 2027 - Topeka's Best Senior Portraits

Nate's senior session was one of those mornings that reminds us why we love what we do. We met bright and early at 6 a.m. on a beautiful family farm where we've photographed several of his cousins over the years. The sunrise could not have been more perfect, giving us amazing light and a beautiful backdrop for his photos. Nate is a student-athlete at Hayden High School, where he plays both football and golf, and he brought a great attitude to the entire session. He was easygoing, cooperative, and really got into the experience. One of my favorite things about Nate's session was seeing his personality come through in the photos. He's a sharp looking young man, and his outfits were great, especially the suit, which gave us some really classy images. Rico's senior session was such a fun one from start to finish. He is a good-looking young man with a great smile, an easygoing personality, and a laid-back attitude that made him a pleasure to photograph. We started downtown before heading to Shawnee Lake and Bettis Family Sports Complex, where we captured some photos that reflected his love of soccer. From there, we found a beautiful spot with tall grass and a country feel, and we wrapped up the evening by the water at Shawnee Lake. The variety of locations gave us so many different looks, and Rico looked great in every one of them. One of the things that stood out most during the session was how respectful Rico was and how close he is with his family. His mom joined us for the session, and it was easy to see the great connection they share. I had the best time photographing Tristan for his senior portraits. We started at Ward-Meade Park, where we had this incredible variety of backgrounds. The sun was shining, giving us a warm, golden glow. Then, we headed over to the NOTO district, and it was just bursting with color. Every corner was vibrant, and Tristan really lit up, especially when we brought his tuba into the shots. I’ve been photographing him since he was little, so it was really special to see him grow into this moment. I could tell he was having a blast, and so was I. We had such a great time photographing Emberly’s senior pictures! We started the session at Four Corners, where the rustic buildings and warm evening sunlight gave us the perfect backdrop for some amazing portraits. Emberly was a natural in front of the camera from the very beginning. Her smile came so easily, and she looked completely comfortable throughout the session. Her mom was there the whole time helping out and cheering her on, which made the experience even more fun. After that, we headed to Osage County Fishing Lake, where the skies absolutely stole the show. We photographed in the fields, along the gravel paths, and around the lake, but my favorite images came when we moved down to the water. Emberly looked beautiful standing along the shoreline and even stepping into the water for some truly unforgettable photos. The final images of the evening were especially stunning. Jordan and Tiffany's Engagement Session - Cyrus Hotel - Topeka's Best Wedding and Engagement Photographers

Jordan and Tiffany's engagement session at the Cyrus Hotel in downtown Topeka was such a great way to spend a Saturday morning. We started inside the beautiful hotel, taking advantage of the elegant lobby and other indoor spaces before heading up to the rooftop patio overlooking Kansas Avenue. The views of downtown Topeka made the perfect backdrop for their engagement photos, and the weather could not have been better. What stood out most about Jordan and Tiffany was how much they genuinely enjoy being together. You could see it in every smile, laugh, and look they shared throughout the session. They told me this was their first professional photo shoot together, but you never would have guessed it. They were complete naturals in front of the camera and had incredible chemistry. Amber and Matt's amazing and unique day! Abe and Jake's Landing - Lawrence, KS

Amber and Matt’s wedding at Abe and Jake’s Landing in Lawrence, Kansas, was such a beautiful celebration. From the moment I arrived, it was clear how much love and respect they have for each other. The smiles, the tears, the laughter, and all the warm hugs made the day feel so full of emotion. They looked absolutely amazing, and their beautiful family added even more joy to the day. It was one of those weddings that just felt special from start to finish. One of the most unique parts of their wedding was the live cover band from Kansas City playing Talking Heads songs — such a fun and unexpected twist! I’ve never seen anything like it at a wedding, and it brought so much energy to the night. The dance floor stayed full with guests of all ages having the best time.
