Interview with Serena Lynn - 2017 Lyndon High Grad - Topeka's Best Senior Portrait Photographers


 We had a great time with Serena for her senior portrait session. We photographed her a while back at the governor's mansion. It was a beautiful day for photos. A little windy and a little cool but Serena did amazing. I especially loved the warm fall colors and Serena and her mom were so much fun to hang out with! She has a beautiful smile but I also love some of her serious photos. Those are some of my favorites! Here's a few of our favorites as well as an interview we did with her. Hope you like! Enjoy!
T.H. Peterson:  What’s something you love about going to Lyndon High?
Serena:  I love going to Lyndon high because it's cool growing up with the same class and seeing all of us graduating.
T.H. P.:  What would you love to do as a career?Serena:  I would LOVE to be a phlebotomist.
T.H. P.:  What is your favorite hobby?
Serena:  My favorite hobby is going to shows and concerts.
T.H. P.:  What TV show reminds you of your childhood?
Serena:  Legends of the Hidden Temple!
T.H. P.:  What would people be surprised to learn about you?
Serena:  People would be surprised I'm a natural blonde lol.
T.H. P.:  What is your secret super power?
Serena:  My secret power would to have the ability to absorb information fast and remember it because I'm so curious about everything.
T.H. P.:  Are you more of a summer or winter girl?
Serena:  I'm definitely a summer girl, there is Nothing like swimming and going to a bonfire after a nice day.
T.H. P.:  What did you like most about your shoot with us?
Serena:  I liked that you guys were so funny and not awkward, you can tell you enjoyed what you were doing.
T.H. P.:  What’s the last movie you saw and what did you think?
Serena:  The last movie I saw was "the best of me" and I love that movie lol I was crying before it was even over.
T.H. P.:  Where do you draw inspiration from?
Serena:  I draw my inspiration from my mom because she always sees the best in people and is so open minded.

Interview with Laci Cole - Seaman High Class of 2026 - Topeka's Best Senior Portraits

Laci was such a joy to photograph. From the moment she walked into the studio, she was friendly, relaxed, and incredibly easy to work with. She has a great smile and is very photogenic, which always makes a session flow effortlessly. Nothing ever felt awkward, even in between shots, and that made the whole experience feel natural and fun. Her outfits were perfect too—they fit the mood of the photos so well and really pulled everything together. It was also one of those cold, snowy days, so we started inside the studio where it was warm, but we couldn’t resist stepping outside for a few shots. Even with the freezing temps, we were able to capture some really cool images with the snow, and they turned out amazing. It was so nice meeting Laci and her mom—they were both wonderful. Sienna's newborn session - Interview with Mom - Topeka's Best Newborn Photographers

We had so much fun taking pictures of baby Sienna recently! Her mom and dad are so in love with her, and you can really feel it when you’re around them.  Sienna was a little fussy at first, and it took a few minutes to get her settled—but once she was, she showed us all kinds of cute expressions. She has so much personality in her little face, and it was so fun to capture that. We got some really beautiful shots with different poses, props, and backdrops. I’m so happy with how the photos turned out—they really show the love this family has for each other. Sienna is such a sweet baby, and I know her family will treasure these pictures forever. T.H. Baby Benjamin’s newborn session was such a sweet and special experience. He is a tiny, beautiful little guy, and from the moment we started, you could feel how excited Mom and Dad were to be there. We took our time and worked carefully to create soft, beautiful images of him, and he gave us the most adorable little expressions. Every photo felt gentle, calm, and full of love, making the entire session a joy to photograph. Some of my favorite images from Benjamin’s session are the family portraits. There is something so special about seeing him in his parents’ arms, looking so safe and precious. The connection between them is so natural and strong, and it shows in every image. Interview with Adrian Romero - Topeka West Class of 2026 - Topeka's Best Senior Portraits

Adrian is a senior at Topeka West, graduating with the Class of 2026. She’s been playing soccer since 3rd grade, and her love for the game really showed during her session. She’s confident, driven, and full of energy—and on top of that, incredibly photogenic with a beautiful, bright smile. We spent a lot of time focusing on her passion for soccer, and it was clear how much it means to her. At the end of the session, we headed out to the water at Shawnee Lake, just in time for the most incredible sunset. The sky lit up in a rich orange glow, giving us the perfect backdrop. How to Prepare for a Photo Session - Topeka's Best Family Portrait Photographers

Select outfits that will make for a timeless portrait. Choose practical clothing items, and keep the location and time of year in mind.  Select clothing items and accessories that are not too distracting or that you will have to adjust often during the session (think long necklaces or ruffled tops on a windy day).  Keep in mind the weather, wind speed, and humidity/chance of rain.  If you have littles, bring them some snacks to help give them incentives during the session.  This can help us to get kids to cooperate and make or break a session.  If it is windy, wear your hair up.  Trimming your bangs/hair slightly to keep them out of your eyes is a great idea, too! Use product like mousse, gel, pomade, and hairspray to tame your mane!    Pick shoes that will be easy to walk in at the location of the session.  For example, high heels are not recommended for sunflower shoots, but would look great in an urban/downtown ...

This session was straight up awesome! A little different than our typical session where we go all over town. Nathan was into his guitars and playing so with that being the theme I thought right around our studio space in Topeka was perfect and we didn't need to go far. We got some with his girlfriend and his sister. I absolutely loved his session. The light was really working with us that day too. Jessica and Kyle at the Governor's Mansion - Topeka, KS Professional Family and Pet Photographers

 We had lots of fun with Jessica and Kyle out at the Governor's Mansion. It's funny because Jessica was laughing about how "bad" her dogs were being but I thought they did great! They are so cute. I love the way they were twisting their heads and smiling at the camera. Super friendly pooches. We really love Jessica and Kyle. They feel like family. We were so fortunate to meet them a few years ago and shoot their wedding and they've been kind enough to come back every year. It's always a lot of fun! Kuno - Krogman Wedding - Todd and Megan say their I Do's! Governor's Row House - Topeka, KS

This summer has been incredibly mild and it went out with a bang for Todd and Megan's big day! It was absolutely beautiful! We couldn't have asked for better. Megan is such a sweetheart. So nice and laid back, the perfect bride! She looked so pretty coming down the aisle and smiled so beautifully that it was truly exciting to be a part of their special day! The Governor's Row House, as usual was cute and decorated stylishly. I love their details and furniture. Makes for a great backdrop for weddings! As Megan and Todd exited the ceremony they were bombarded with candy sprinkles! How fun! The funny thing was the kids were trying to eat them all. I don't know if more were thrown or gobbled up by the kids lol. We wish this very special couple the very best! Interview with Gabby Samson - Lyndon High Class of 2025 - Topeka's Best Senior Portraits

Gabby's senior session was an absolute blast! From the moment we met, I felt like we clicked instantly—she's just that cool. She’s creative, artistic, and has such a fun, genuine personality. We spent a beautiful sunny afternoon in Topeka capturing her love for all things 90s, Blink-182, and her passion for music. Her guitar added the perfect personal touch, and every shot felt like a glimpse into her artistic soul. I absolutely LOVE how her photos turned out!
