Leah and Nolan's Big Day - The Scott Wedding - Crossroads Cowboy Church - Topeka Wedding Photographers

 Leah and Nolan had big plans for their day. Riding in on horseback into a rodeo arena was the idea. Of course, I had thoughts of how their images would look as they rode off into the sunset... and then the rain happened. I know it must have been an extremely disappointing thing. Considering how much horses are a part of their lives. In fact, their son, who is two was going to be their ring bearer and bring the rings on horseback. If I remember right, he has his own horse!! But you can't fight with the weather. So that being the case, I was even more determined to create images for them that they would absolutely love and tell the story of their day. The waited to see each other when Leah walked down the aisle. His face said it all. Nolan isn't the most expressive person but his face of happiness and contentment spoke loudly to me. Their celebration was beautiful. The families in attendance seemed close knit and loving. It's always a disappointment when our plans at weddings don't go exactly the way we think, but I've yet to be to a wedding where everything goes perfect. And at the end of the day, what do we have? We have each other. Nolan and Leah have each other and their families and their friends and that's an amazing thing. Thank you for checking out their blog post. Now this was a special session! It's not often we photograph multiples for newborn sessions but these little girls were just perfect and despite them being born several months ago, because they were so premature they photographed just like brand new newborns! Recently, we photographed Sarah, my assistant (of many years) she’s incredible! Always professional, friendly and fun to be around. I asked her to do a write up for her blog post. How to Prepare for a Photo Session - Topeka's Best Family Portrait Photographers

Select outfits that will make for a timeless portrait. Choose practical clothing items, and keep the location and time of year in mind.  Select clothing items and accessories that are not too distracting or that you will have to adjust often during the session (think long necklaces or ruffled tops on a windy day).  Keep in mind the weather, wind speed, and humidity/chance of rain.  If you have littles, bring them some snacks to help give them incentives during the session.  This can help us to get kids to cooperate and make or break a session.  If it is windy, wear your hair up.  Trimming your bangs/hair slightly to keep them out of your eyes is a great idea, too! Use product like mousse, gel, pomade, and hairspray to tame your mane!    Pick shoes that will be easy to walk in at the location of the session.  For example, high heels are not recommended for sunflower shoots, but would look great in an urban/downtown setting.  Bring an extra jacket or cardigan to th

Tracer was such a sweet baby! I remember almost immediately when we started the session, he was comfortable and ready to be posed. Usually it takes a min to get them settled but he was a very good baby. I mean just look at that smile. He smiled almost right at the beginning and he was just a blast to photograph! Sawyer is a CUTE kid! He was so chill and photographing him was a blast. I love the portraits we got of him and the images with mom and dad are super special! Mr Walter is such a precious little baby! We had a great time posing him and working with him. He has such a sweet face. What a cute face! Ferris was the perfect little model! He was such a sweet baby and even though he did not want to go to bed easily, he gave us adorable expressions and I think these photos show off his personality. He is a handsome little boy! Interview with Deacon Crumpton - SFT Class of 2024 - Topeka's Best Senior Portraits

Deacon was fun to hang out with. He is very photogenic and capturing his personality and energy was a blast. We had such a great evening to get these images of him. And even though we took these pretty much in the dead of winter, you'd really never know. The temps were great and the trees looked incredible in the glow of the setting sun.
