Interview with Dalton Burchett - Shawnee Heights Grad - Class of 2018 - Topeka's Best Senior Portraits

 Dalton's session was a breeze. He's a good looking guy with a fun personality. He was one of the most easy going seniors we've ever photographed. His mom and family tagged along and helped too. I heard some kissing behind me and they were blowing kisses at him. It was hilarious but it helped! lol. His session was fun, short and sweet. I love his photos and his interview is good too. Enjoy!

 T.H. Peterson: What do you like best and least about school?

Dalton: What I like best about school is getting to see all of my friends and some of my teachers, what I like least is having to get up so early!


T.H. P.: Favorite class so far this year?

Dalton: My favorite class this year is weights because I love working out. 


T.H. P.: What are your plans after high school?

Dalton: After high school I plan on going to a technical school in Texas or joining the Navy.


T.H. P.: Best place to eat in Topeka?

Dalton: Either Banjos or Buffalo Wild Wings.


T.H. P.: What is something you liked about your shoot w us?

Dalton: During the shoot I liked getting to experience what my older siblings got too with their senior picture. 


T.H. P.: Describe yourself in 3 words.

Dalton: Describing myself in 3 words will be hard but if I had to choose they would be awesome, athletic and kindhearted.


T.H. P.: What's the scariest thing you've ever done?

Dalton: The scariest thing I have done was climb up a waterfall in Mexico and jump off but it was pretty awesome too. 


T.H. P.: Your photos at Harley Davidson were to honor the memory of your uncle. I think that's very sweet. What is one of your fondest memories of him. 

Dalton: There are so many good memories with my uncle but when your a kid in a small town and your uncle has the key to the swimming pool it's pretty awesome all the times I went night swimming with him and my dad doing tricks off the diving board.


T.H. P.:  Best movie you've seen this year?

Dalton: The best movie I have seen this year would have to be guardians of the galaxy 2 I'm a marvel geek! 


T.H. P.: Best song on the radio right now.

Dalton: Best song on the radio right now to me would be Small Town Boy by Dustin Lynch.

Now this was a special session! It's not often we photograph multiples for newborn sessions but these little girls were just perfect and despite them being born several months ago, because they were so premature they photographed just like brand new newborns! We had the most absolutely perfect day for the Popkess family's spring session at Ward Meade. Sadly the tulips are all gone however the lush greenery made a perfect backdrop anywhere we posed this adorable family! How to Prepare for a Photo Session - Topeka's Best Family Portrait Photographers

Select outfits that will make for a timeless portrait. Choose practical clothing items, and keep the location and time of year in mind.  Select clothing items and accessories that are not too distracting or that you will have to adjust often during the session (think long necklaces or ruffled tops on a windy day).  Keep in mind the weather, wind speed, and humidity/chance of rain.  If you have littles, bring them some snacks to help give them incentives during the session.  This can help us to get kids to cooperate and make or break a session.  If it is windy, wear your hair up.  Trimming your bangs/hair slightly to keep them out of your eyes is a great idea, too! Use product like mousse, gel, pomade, and hairspray to tame your mane!    Pick shoes that will be easy to walk in at the location of the session.  For example, high heels are not recommended for sunflower shoots, but would look great in an urban/downtown setting.  Bring an extra jacket or cardigan to th

Destrie: I have always loved the name Diego, and so I knew when I had a second boy he would have that name. T.H. P.: What does big bro think? Destrie: His brother is in total awe of him. What a handsome little guy! I loved photographing Declan and his session was just perfect! I especially loved capturing the details like his spikey hair. Totally adorable! Hanna, who is a long time client, has recently begun helping us with newborns and it's been a huge blessing not only to our business but to her as well as she has had an opportunity to grow as a photographer herself and practice on getting better at wrapping and posing babies. She is growing by leaps and bounds and I am so thankful to have her on our team! She's someone I always appreciate having around! What a sweet baby! We had a wonderful time with Kayson and his mom and dad. They are so proud of him and you can tell they are going to raise him right and give him lots of love his whole life. Cove was the sweetest little girl. She was so mellow and easy to photograph. She was just the cutest baby. During our first moments together, she just stared at me and was so calm, I couldn’t have fallen more in love.  T.H. P.: How did you come up with her name? Sierra: Her big brothers name is Cash, so I knew I wanted another one syllable name. When I stumbled upon Cove and said the names together, it was an instant yes. She’s already gotten the nickname of Coco as well, which is so cute.  T.H. P.: What is life like with a new baby in the house? Sierra: It honestly has been a huge adjustment, but way smoother than I had imagined. Cash is 5 and he’s been super helpful and sweet
