Adding one s'more to the family!!! Dalton joins the family!!! Amazing adoption story! Topeka Family Photographers

 I've been blessed to know the Griffins for a long time! They are a great family and have so much love to share and to give! One thing I admire about them is their attitudes and energy. They are a great family and deserve great things in life. They have been trying to adopt Dalton for a long time and finally he joined their family. Photographing them was great because seeing the love they have for each other and for their new family member is just amazing. The wait was long, but I KNOW it was worth it. Dalton is such a special young man. He is adorable and I loved being around him withi in minutes of meeting him!! So here are a few highlights from their shoot. I will also include a post Samantha posted about Dalton. It was very heartwarming and I wanted to share:
"Right now, at this very moment, our family is going from 4 to 5, (legally). Let me tell you though, we have been a family of 5 since the day we locked eyes on him. My husband met him first, but I attached immediately. 

My first memory was having him visit and him sitting on my lap as I rocked him and read him a story. From there he came over to play with kids and before you knew it, he was one of our kids. We sprinted to get our home licensed. We vowed to do whatever it would take to make his forever happen. Let me tell you, we had no idea what that would all mean.

Love at first sight doesn't happen often to most people but I have had the pleasure of getting to know, love, and treasure my precious son. Though I did not create him, God created the world for our paths to cross and for me to be his mommy. All things in this world, the good, the bad, and the ugly lead us to this road of forever. 2 years and 2 months to the day, we waited ever so patiently (that's up to interpretation) for our GOTCHA Day. And today, at 9am CST on April 6th, 2018, it has happened.

Now this was a special session! It's not often we photograph multiples for newborn sessions but these little girls were just perfect and despite them being born several months ago, because they were so premature they photographed just like brand new newborns! How to Prepare for a Photo Session - Topeka's Best Family Portrait Photographers

Select outfits that will make for a timeless portrait. Choose practical clothing items, and keep the location and time of year in mind.  Select clothing items and accessories that are not too distracting or that you will have to adjust often during the session (think long necklaces or ruffled tops on a windy day).  Keep in mind the weather, wind speed, and humidity/chance of rain.  If you have littles, bring them some snacks to help give them incentives during the session.  This can help us to get kids to cooperate and make or break a session.  If it is windy, wear your hair up.  Trimming your bangs/hair slightly to keep them out of your eyes is a great idea, too! Use product like mousse, gel, pomade, and hairspray to tame your mane!    Pick shoes that will be easy to walk in at the location of the session.  For example, high heels are not recommended for sunflower shoots, but would look great in an urban/downtown setting.  Bring an extra jacket or cardigan to th

Tracer was such a sweet baby! I remember almost immediately when we started the session, he was comfortable and ready to be posed. Usually it takes a min to get them settled but he was a very good baby. I mean just look at that smile. He smiled almost right at the beginning and he was just a blast to photograph! Sawyer is a CUTE kid! He was so chill and photographing him was a blast. I love the portraits we got of him and the images with mom and dad are super special! Hanna, who is a long time client, has recently begun helping us with newborns and it's been a huge blessing not only to our business but to her as well as she has had an opportunity to grow as a photographer herself and practice on getting better at wrapping and posing babies. What a sweet baby! We had a wonderful time with Kayson and his mom and dad. They are so proud of him and you can tell they are going to raise him right and give him lots of love his whole life.
