Interview with Jeimmy Perez - Hayden High - Class of 2019 - Topeka's Best Senior Portrait Photographers


 Very happy to share our session with Jeimmy! She goes to Hayden High and it was such a beautiful afternoon. She had her family with her and we went around some of our favorite locations and we were able to get some really nice variety but some of my favorites from her session were her country images. Those looked amazing! I really loved how she incorporated the American flag and Mexican flag. That made for a killer background. Really creative and beautiful. Overall, I think her session rocked and I'm happy we were able to create some amazing images with her. Hope you enjoy. Nice interview as well. Check it out!
T.H. Peterson: Favorite thing about going to Hayden?

Jeimmy: My favorite thing about going to Hayden is getting to see my friends and having fun at school dances.

T.H. P.: Best Mexican restaurant in Topeka?

Jeimmy: My favorite Mexican restaurant is Los Charros.

T.H. P.: What is the best advice your mom has ever given you?

Jeimmy: The best advice my mom and dad have given me is to fight for my dreams and that I always have her and my dad by my side.

T.H. P.: What are your plans after high school?

Jeimmy: My plans after high school is to go to college and then go to med school but also travel the world and see the different cultures.

T.H. P.: Favorite thing about your shoot with us?

Jeimmy: I felt comfortable with the team I had and they were funny and I had a good time.

T.H. P.: Where would you like to vacation one day?

Jeimmy: I would like to go to vacation to Acapulco.

T.H. P.: Best movie you've seen this year?

Jeimmy: It would probably be Incredibles 2 or Love, Simon.

T.H. P.: Favorite song on the radio right now?

Jeimmy: Love Lies by Khalid with Normani.

T.H. P.: What would people be surprised to learn about you?\
Jeimmy: My age because a lot of people think I’m older then what I actually am.
T.H. P.: How would you describe yourself?

Jeimmy: That I am a person who is caring, outgoing, funny, sensitive, careful, nice and that I’m social.

Now this was a special session! It's not often we photograph multiples for newborn sessions but these little girls were just perfect and despite them being born several months ago, because they were so premature they photographed just like brand new newborns! How to Prepare for a Photo Session - Topeka's Best Family Portrait Photographers

Select outfits that will make for a timeless portrait. Choose practical clothing items, and keep the location and time of year in mind.  Select clothing items and accessories that are not too distracting or that you will have to adjust often during the session (think long necklaces or ruffled tops on a windy day).  Keep in mind the weather, wind speed, and humidity/chance of rain.  If you have littles, bring them some snacks to help give them incentives during the session.  This can help us to get kids to cooperate and make or break a session.  If it is windy, wear your hair up.  Trimming your bangs/hair slightly to keep them out of your eyes is a great idea, too! Use product like mousse, gel, pomade, and hairspray to tame your mane!    Pick shoes that will be easy to walk in at the location of the session.  For example, high heels are not recommended for sunflower shoots, but would look great in an urban/downtown setting.  Bring an extra jacket or cardigan to th

Destrie: I have always loved the name Diego, and so I knew when I had a second boy he would have that name. T.H. P.: What does big bro think? Destrie: His brother is in total awe of him. Hanna, who is a long time client, has recently begun helping us with newborns and it's been a huge blessing not only to our business but to her as well as she has had an opportunity to grow as a photographer herself and practice on getting better at wrapping and posing babies. What a sweet baby! We had a wonderful time with Kayson and his mom and dad. They are so proud of him and you can tell they are going to raise him right and give him lots of love his whole life. Cove was the sweetest little girl. She was so mellow and easy to photograph. She was just the cutest baby. During our first moments together, she just stared at me and was so calm, I couldn’t have fallen more in love.  T.H. P.: How did you come up with her name? Sierra: Her big brothers name is Cash, so I knew I wanted another one syllable name. When I stumbled upon Cove and said the names together, it was an instant yes.
