 I am absolutely thrilled to share Alison and Cody's wedding images with you all. They are such a special couple and we had a great time with them! It was a cold and cloudy and eventually rainy wedding day, but despite that, it was still an amazing day. One thing I can say about Alison and Cody is that they love each other so much and the details don't mean anything if they don't have each other. Each other is what is most important. I was impressed with how laid back Alison was. They are blessed to have each other. I loved Alison's dress, the location, the feel of everything. It was perfect. I won't ramble on, I just want to say that we are so thankful that we got to be a part of such a great experience! It was awesome and we wish Cody and Alison the very best. Now this was a special session! It's not often we photograph multiples for newborn sessions but these little girls were just perfect and despite them being born several months ago, because they were so premature they photographed just like brand new newborns! Recently, we photographed Sarah, my assistant (of many years) she’s incredible! Always professional, friendly and fun to be around. I asked her to do a write up for her blog post. Here’s what she wrote: My first experience with T.H. Peterson Photography was 8 years ago. I saw an add for his spring mini sessions and thought it would be a perfect fit for my husband (who hates photos) and my four small kids. How to Prepare for a Photo Session - Topeka's Best Family Portrait Photographers

Select outfits that will make for a timeless portrait. Choose practical clothing items, and keep the location and time of year in mind.  Select clothing items and accessories that are not too distracting or that you will have to adjust often during the session (think long necklaces or ruffled tops on a windy day).  Keep in mind the weather, wind speed, and humidity/chance of rain.  If you have littles, bring them some snacks to help give them incentives during the session.  This can help us to get kids to cooperate and make or break a session.  If it is windy, wear your hair up.  Trimming your bangs/hair slightly to keep them out of your eyes is a great idea, too! Use product like mousse, gel, pomade, and hairspray to tame your mane!    Pick shoes that will be easy to walk in at the location of the session.  For example, high heels are not recommended for sunflower shoots, but would look great in an urban/downtown setting.  Bring an extra jacket or cardigan to th

Tracer's newborn session - Interview with Mom - Topeka's Best Newborn Photographers

Tracer was such a sweet baby! I remember almost immediately when we started the session, he was comfortable and ready to be posed. Usually it takes a min to get them settled but he was a very good baby. I mean just look at that smile. He smiled almost right at the beginning and he was just a blast to photograph! Sawyer is a CUTE kid! He was so chill and photographing him was a blast. I love the portraits we got of him and the images with mom and dad are super special!
