Ayla's newborn photos - Interview with mom - Topeka's Best Newborn Photographers

Ayla and her mom and grandpa came in for a session and we were so very excited to see her!  Ayla had such an adorable session with her hippie flowers, her sage wrap and her princess tiara!  We loved every single thing about this sweetheart and her session! We really enjoyed capturing the special bond between mom and her baby, and grandpa, who lit up as he held Ayla.  We are sure you will fall in love with Ayla’s session just like we did!
T.H. Peterson:  How did you decide on the name Ayla?

Megan:  Ayla was named Everleigh up until about the 5th month of my pregnancy ..due to the fact that we both work/worked in corrections, we both determined that we would attempt to utilize a name that was not common. About a week before we ordered her first personalized item, a kiddo came into my office with the name Everleigh. It was a very sad, neglect case and I didn't want to associate her name with that for the rest of her life. The day that kiddo came in, we went to dinner at Old Chicago. We wrote three names down on a napkin; one I liked, one Daddy like and one we both liked...we later folded them up and picked one:)

T.H. P.:  How did you feel when you discovered you were finally pregnant?  How did you find out?
Megan:  I think ecstatic almost falls short of how we felt when we found out we were pregnant. George and I had been attempting to get pregnant for over 20 months on our own. After countless procedures,  we developed a plan of action with our team of Doctors. We did our first IUI procedure in September..we found out on our year wedding anniversary that we were pregnant! I had taken two tests earlier than we were supposed to after our procedure, so I just assumed it was negative just like the test..however, I woke up that morning at 3am, took the last test I had and it was positive! I went to Walgreens, bought six more tests and they were all positive too!
T.H. P.:  What did your husband think when he found out he was going to be a daddy?
Megan:  George says that being a Dad is the biggest joy of his life. He indicates that it is something that he has wanted for so long, he can hardly believe that it is true. Bring a Father is the greatest feeling he could ever have.
T.H. P.:  What is some advice you think other mom's with preemies should know?
Megan:  Celebrate the little things! Give yourself some grace and know that everything is going to work out..even if it's not on "your" time. Don’t ever be afraid to ask questions and most of all..take care of yourself so you can be the best parent you know how to be!
T.H. P.:  How do you feel now that you are a mom?
Megan:  Ayla is everything I never knew I needed; she is truly my purpose. Motherhood for me is knowing joy even through experiencing the most difficult trials and tribulations. Being her Mother is my passion and my greatest achievement.
