Interview with Bailee Blanchard - Jefferson West Class of 2020 - Topeka's Best Senior Portraits

Bailee is a really fun person, and we were really happy to photograph her!  She laughed non-stop and really enjoyed posing and being silly for us during her entire shoot!  You can see her personality radiate in her images! Bailee had a perfect smile, and her eyes lit up every time she would laugh, which was the whole session!  During her session at the governor’s mansion, Bailee had us in stitches as she ran around the hill, and rolled out of the chair! Her bubbly personality made her such a joy to photograph!  This was one of the funnest sessions we have had! While most of her pictures were full of smiles, we did get some really great serious moments of her as well. We are so excited for you to check out her blog!
 T.H. P.:  Describe one of your favorite memories from high school.
Bailee:   I can't  describe just one; homecoming week shenanigans, school spirit and traditions, "family" sleepovers, state playoff road trips, and unforgettable memories with my best friends.
 T.H. P.:  What are your plans after graduation? 
Bailee:   I would like to attend college, travel and see where life takes me.
 T.H. P.:   What is one piece of advice you'd like to give incoming freshmen about high school?
Bailee:   Be involved in activities and step outside your comfort zone....It goes fast, enjoy every moment!
 T.H. P.:  How have your goals changed since you started as a freshman to now?
Bailee:   I am more confident, so I feel like I am able to push myself in the right direction.
 T.H. P.:  How do you feel about being a senior?  What emotions do you feel about your senior year?
Bailee:   It is bittersweet.  I love my school and have built such awesome friendships, these people are more like family to me, but I am so excited to see where my next chapter will lead me and all of the adventures I have yet to live.
 T.H. P.:  What was your favorite part of the session with us?
Bailee:   I had no idea what I was doing, but it was so much fun and relaxed.  I was so glad you were able to capture my personality in my session.
 T.H. P.:  What is your favorite class from high school and why?
Bailee:  I have been blessed with awesome teachers, but I have enjoyed my history courses and Spanish classes
 T.H. P.:  If you could take a dream vacation to anywhere with anyone, where would you go and who would you take with you?
Bailee:   I love to travel internationally, I still would like to see Paris, France.
 T.H. Peterson: Where do you see yourself in 10 years and how will you get there? 
Bailee: I hope to have a college degree, living my dream and enjoying life with family and friends.

Now this was a special session! It's not often we photograph multiples for newborn sessions but these little girls were just perfect and despite them being born several months ago, because they were so premature they photographed just like brand new newborns! Recently, we photographed Sarah, my assistant (of many years) she’s incredible! Always professional, friendly and fun to be around. I asked her to do a write up for her blog post. Here’s what she wrote: My first experience with T.H. Peterson Photography was 8 years ago. I saw an add for his spring mini sessions and thought it would be a perfect fit for my husband (who hates photos) and my four small kids. That photo shoot resulted in amazing pictures and also a job for me! I’m Sarah, one of Tommy’s photo assistants and this spring my extended family met Tommy at Osage lake for our family photo shoot. How to Prepare for a Photo Session - Topeka's Best Family Portrait Photographers

Select outfits that will make for a timeless portrait. Choose practical clothing items, and keep the location and time of year in mind.  Select clothing items and accessories that are not too distracting or that you will have to adjust often during the session (think long necklaces or ruffled tops on a windy day).  Keep in mind the weather, wind speed, and humidity/chance of rain.  If you have littles, bring them some snacks to help give them incentives during the session.  This can help us to get kids to cooperate and make or break a session.  If it is windy, wear your hair up.  Trimming your bangs/hair slightly to keep them out of your eyes is a great idea, too! Use product like mousse, gel, pomade, and hairspray to tame your mane!    Pick shoes that will be easy to walk in at the location of the session.  For example, high heels are not recommended for sunflower shoots, but would look great in an urban/downtown setting.  Bring an extra jacket or cardigan to th

Tracer's newborn session - Interview with Mom - Topeka's Best Newborn Photographers

Tracer was such a sweet baby! I remember almost immediately when we started the session, he was comfortable and ready to be posed. Usually it takes a min to get them settled but he was a very good baby. I mean just look at that smile. He smiled almost right at the beginning and he was just a blast to photograph! Mr Walter is such a precious little baby! We had a great time posing him and working with him. He has such a sweet face. It was really special creating these images for mom and dad and also being able to incorporate them into the session. Sawyer is a CUTE kid! He was so chill and photographing him was a blast. I love the portraits we got of him and the images with mom and dad are super special! Interview with Deacon Crumpton - SFT Class of 2024 - Topeka's Best Senior Portraits

Deacon was fun to hang out with. He is very photogenic and capturing his personality and energy was a blast. We had such a great evening to get these images of him. And even though we took these pretty much in the dead of winter, you'd really never know. The temps were great and the trees looked incredible in the glow of the setting sun. It was such a great session to document this special time in Deacon's life. I admire him and know he'll do great things in life. His discipline and positive outlook will guide him in the future!
