Myles' Cute Newborn Session - Interview with Mom - Topeka's Best Newborn Photographers

 

Well, we can mark Myles down for the Cutest Baby of 2021 because that little guy is a total heartbreaker!  He came in for a newborn session at 6 days old and did such a great job!  He had the softest red hair, the cutest expressions and was so good for us!  We think he might be our favorite newborn to ever wear the bear outfits, it fit him so perfectly!  We are so excited to share this handsome guy’s session with you!  Enjoy!

T.H. Peterson: What was your reaction to finding out you were pregnant?

Miranda:  One of the greatest moments of our life! Kids are such a blessing!

T.H. P.:  What did your other children think when you shared the news with them?

Miranda:  For the boys just another day,  The girls were super excited!

T.H. P.:  What was your first night home as a family like?

Miranda:  AMAZING! We couldn’t wait to be home, and introduce Myles to his siblings!

T.H. P.:  How did you decide on the name Myles?

Miranda:  Got the name Myles from one of Lane’s favorite quarterbacks!   And his middle name LeRoy after my dad!


T.H. P.:  What was your favorite part of your newborn session with us?

Miranda:  The experience was great! And The photos topped it off!! Loved how we got to try new things!

Interview with Aubrey Richman - Lyndon High Class of 2025 - Topeka's Best Senior Portraits

I had the best time photographing Aubrey from Lyndon High School for her senior session! We kicked things off in downtown Topeka, where Aubrey brought tons of energy and personality to every shot. She showcased her cheerleading skills, along with her love for volleyball, and her joy was contagious. Her beautiful smile lit up every scene, and it was so easy to capture her bright spirit. The weather was amazing, with clear skies and a perfect golden hour glow that made everything even better. As the sun began to set, we made our way to the Governor's Mansion, where the light was absolutely stunning. The final shots by the Kansas River were my favorites of the whole session. The soft colors from the sunset reflected on the water, adding a warm, natural touch to every photo. Photographing Kaitlynn’s sweet 16 at Shawnee Lake was such a special experience. I’ve been taking her pictures since she was little, so it was amazing to see how much she’s grown up! The setting sun made everything look beautiful, and her outfits were perfect. She brought smoke bombs and balloons, which made the photos even more fun and colorful. Kaitlynn looked so natural in front of the camera. She’s always been photogenic, and she really shined in this session. It’s hard to believe she’s already 16! How to Prepare for a Photo Session - Topeka's Best Family Portrait Photographers

Select outfits that will make for a timeless portrait. Choose practical clothing items, and keep the location and time of year in mind.  Select clothing items and accessories that are not too distracting or that you will have to adjust often during the session (think long necklaces or ruffled tops on a windy day).  Keep in mind the weather, wind speed, and humidity/chance of rain.  If you have littles, bring them some snacks to help give them incentives during the session.  This can help us to get kids to cooperate and make or break a session.  If it is windy, wear your hair up.  Trimming your bangs/hair slightly to keep them out of your eyes is a great idea, too! Use product like mousse, gel, pomade, and hairspray to tame your mane!    Pick shoes that will be easy to walk in at the location of the session.  For example, high heels are not recommended for sunflower shoots, but would look great in an urban/downtown setting.  Bring an extra jacket or cardigan to th

Lauryn is one of the coolest seniors I’ve ever met. From the moment we started her session, I could tell she was completely herself—funny, creative, and so much fun to be around. We started downtown in Topeka, and she even brought a Funko Pop of herself, which made for some awesome and unique pictures. I wanted to make sure I captured her personality because she’s so colorful and full of life, and I think we nailed it! We also took pictures at the Cyrus Hotel, where she totally rocked the modern and classy vibe. After that, we ended at the Capitol, and the photos there turned out absolutely beautiful. I had the pleasure of photographing Zach, a senior from Lebo, Kansas, Class of 2025. We split his session into two parts to capture everything that makes him unique. The first session was all about his sports and some fun shots downtown. For the second, we headed to a gorgeous country property just outside of Lebo, and it couldn’t have been a better setting. The fall colors during the second session were absolutely stunning, making every photo feel warm and vibrant. Molly was amazing to photograph! She’s a senior at Washburn Rural High School, Class of 2025, and she was so beautiful and natural in front of the camera. We started her session with some fall portraits at sunset, and the colors were just perfect. The golden light made everything look magical, and Molly’s smile made every photo stand out. She was super easygoing, which made the session so much fun. After sunset, we headed downtown to Topeka for some cool nighttime shots. We ended up on top of a parking garage that had an awesome view of the city skyline. The lights of the city in the background made the photos look incredible. Meeting Link and her crew was awesome! They were so fun and laid back. It was a blast. Link is from Indiana but was here on break and we were able to get some really creative images of her. I loved the color and beauty of her session. We took them in NOTO, Gage Park and a beautiful neighborhood nearby. The session just flew by as we got the best smiles and laughs. I had an awesome time photographing Connor, a senior from Washburn Rural, who’s got such a fun personality and isn’t afraid to be himself. We started the session on the track to capture his love for running, where he just lit up, making jokes and not taking himself too seriously. The setting sun hit just right, casting that warm golden-hour glow over everything. Connor was full of energy, laughing and showing off his unique style, which made for some pretty great shots. After the track, we headed to a pond out back to capture Connor doing something else he loves: fishing. The pond was surrounded by tall grass that looked amazing in the sunset light. Bryer's Newborn Session - Interview with Mom - Topeka's Best Newborn Photographers

This week, I had the chance to photograph the sweetest little guy in our studio: baby Bryer. From the moment he arrived, he had this calm and curious vibe, just looking around and taking everything in. Bryer barely fussed, making it so easy to capture his adorable expressions, from wide-eyed stares to the cutest little smiles. He’s already got a special charm that made each photo feel unique. Bryer’s big brother, a lively toddler, joined in for some shots, and their connection was heartwarming. You could see the bond between them, with big brother being curious and gentle. Mom and Dad were absolutely smitten with both their boys and beamed through the whole session.
