Abi McNary - Santa Fe Trail High Class of 2023 - Osage County's Best Photographers

Abi has such a bright and happy personality, it only makes sense that her senior session matched perfectly!  Her warm smile looked amazing with the warm sunset!  Everything matched, from her outfits to her eyes and the sky and the lake.  It was breathtaking!  There were so many amazing images from her session, we struggled to pick only a few.  Here are some of our top favorites!

T.H. Peterson: What are you enjoying most your senior year at SFT?

Abi:  I am enjoying being involved as much as I can whether it’s cheer/dance/ or band to helping out with the musical and decorating the school for events.

T.H. P.:  What has been your most memorable moments doing dance and cheer?

Abi:  My most memorable moment in dance was team bonding. I love getting to know everyone and making memories. My most memorable moment in cheer is trying new stunts, I always start off nervous but the end result is super exciting.

T.H. P.:   What are your plans after high school?

Abi:  After high school, I plan on going to KU and majoring in psychology.

T.H. P.:  What is your dream job?

Abi:  My dream job is to be a forensic psychologist.

T.H. P.:  Would you consider yourself an extrovert or introvert or somewhere in

between?


Abi:  I consider myself to be an extrovert at first I can be shy, but after I get

comfortable I am super outgoing.

T.H. P.:  What is something you enjoyed about your session with us?


Abi:  I enjoyed sharing ideas and being able to use my ideas as well as

incorporating your ideas for amazing results.

T.H. P.:  Your dog Dixie is adorable. What breed is she?

How did you get her? How long have you had her?


Abi:  My dog, Dixie, is a German wirehaired pointer.

I rescued her as a puppy almost 3 years ago.

T.H. P.:  If you had $1000 and 1 hour what store would you go to?

Abi:  I would definitely go to Target! There’s a wide variety of things and I could spend a lot of time walking around shopping when I have the time.

T.H. P.:  Favorite YouTube channel?

Abi:  My favorite YouTube channel is the history channel. I love watching history videos in my free time.

Baby Oakley was an absolute dream to photograph! This precious little girl, who looks just like her mama, was so calm and posed perfectly for us. Because she was so cooperative, we got to try new poses, props, and backdrops, making the session extra special. I had so much fun photographing Brody and Kiera, a pair of high school siblings who came to the studio for a just-for-fun session! Their bond was easy to see, laughing and teasing. They brought such a natural vibe to every shot. I love sessions like this that capture the joy of family without needing a special occasion. We also brought their hobbies into the session to show off their personalities. Kiera, a talented ballet dancer, posed with grace, while Brody, a baseball player, brought his sporty style. Meet Knox – the sweetest little guy! During his newborn session, he was such a joy to photograph. We used several adorable props and backdrops, and Knox gave us a little smile... basically we gushed over him! His expressions were so precious, showing off his personality even at such a young age. How to Prepare for a Photo Session - Topeka's Best Family Portrait Photographers

Select outfits that will make for a timeless portrait. Choose practical clothing items, and keep the location and time of year in mind.  Select clothing items and accessories that are not too distracting or that you will have to adjust often during the session (think long necklaces or ruffled tops on a windy day).  Keep in mind the weather, wind speed, and humidity/chance of rain.  If you have littles, bring them some snacks to help give them incentives during the session.  This can help us to get kids to cooperate and make or break a session.  If it is windy, wear your hair up.  Trimming your bangs/hair slightly to keep them out of your eyes is a great idea, too! Use product like mousse, gel, pomade, and hairspray to tame your mane!    Pick shoes that will be easy to walk in at the location of the session.  For example, high heels are not recommended for sunflower shoots, but would look great in an urban/downtown ...

Our session with Lainey was perfect. She was such a beautiful little model. We took her session with her family and her big brothers were adorable and a lot of fun. Clearly mom and dad are crazy about her. We were able to get lots of beautiful images! Here are just a few of our favorites! T.H. Peterson: What did you think when you first saw Lainey? Laura: When I first saw Lainey I asked if she was still a girl (LOL) I have two boys and she is the first girl in the Worcester family in almost 19 years. Azaria’s senior session was one to remember! We braved the freezing cold, with snow covering the ground, to capture her love for softball. The golden hour sunset added a warm glow, making the field look magical. She brought along softball shirts from childhood and past teams, a special touch that told the story of her journey. Despite the cold, Azaria did amazing, smiling through every shot and showcasing her passion for the game. Her confidence and determination shone through, creating beautiful and meaningful photos. Erika and Brad are the sweetest family, and I loved photographing their newborn session. Their new baby, Luciana, has so much hair that I joked it looked like a wig! Her big sister, Addy, wasn’t too interested in the session, but we still managed to capture some really sweet moments of them together. Even though this was a quick session, we got some beautiful images of their little family. Newborn sessions are always special, but there’s something extra sweet about capturing those early days with a new baby. Luciana was so peaceful, and her tiny features were just perfect. Welcoming baby Ruby into the studio was such a joy! She was the sweetest little model, so peaceful and content throughout her session. Her tiny features and soft expressions made every photo feel extra special. The connection between Ruby and her mom was beautiful to see.
