Interview with Brayden - Class of 2023 - Topeka's Best Senior Portraits

What a beautiful young lady! Brayden was such a fun person to photograph. The best smile and just so photogenic. So the idea was to get a session of her in the snow. That’s what she really wanted. Well that’s kind of hard to time but we managed to get a really nice snow and the images we got from the session were just stunning! I loved her whole shoot but when she came out in this beautiful red gown, it just popped against the white backdrop. I was so excited and glad she brought that as part of her session!! T.H. Peterson: What are your plans after high school?

Brayden: I am going to KU to study nursing.

T.H. P.: What will you miss most about going to Seaman?

Brayden: I will miss seeing my friends because I have known them for forever.

T.H. P.: What would you consider a dream job?

Brayden: I would love to be a traveling labor and delivery nurse, that way I could see different parts of the United States.

T.H. P.:  What kind of student are you?

Brayden:  I am a hardworking student and I have always gotten good grades because I enjoy learning.

T.H. P.: What advice does your mom give you often?

Brayden: “Have fun, experience everything, and don’t give a crap what others think.”

T.H. P.: Favorite thing to do outdoors?

Brayden:  I love to go swimming and I have a new love for paddle boarding.

T.H. P.: What is something you enjoyed about your shoot with us?

Brayden: I liked seeing the view of Topeka from the rooftop.

T.H. P.: Favorite youtube channel?

Brayden:  I don’t watch YouTube but I do like seeing music videos.

T.H. P.: If you could take a road trip anywhere, where would you go?

Brayden:  I want to go to California because it is hot and it seems really beautiful.

T.H. P.: Favorite junk food?

Brayden: I love pizza but I also love snacking on Cinnamon Toast Crunch.

Now this was a special session! It's not often we photograph multiples for newborn sessions but these little girls were just perfect and despite them being born several months ago, because they were so premature they photographed just like brand new newborns! We had the most absolutely perfect day for the Popkess family's spring session at Ward Meade. Sadly the tulips are all gone however the lush greenery made a perfect backdrop anywhere we posed this adorable family! How to Prepare for a Photo Session - Topeka's Best Family Portrait Photographers

Select outfits that will make for a timeless portrait. Choose practical clothing items, and keep the location and time of year in mind.  Select clothing items and accessories that are not too distracting or that you will have to adjust often during the session (think long necklaces or ruffled tops on a windy day).  Keep in mind the weather, wind speed, and humidity/chance of rain.  If you have littles, bring them some snacks to help give them incentives during the session.  This can help us to get kids to cooperate and make or break a session.  If it is windy, wear your hair up.  Trimming your bangs/hair slightly to keep them out of your eyes is a great idea, too! Use product like mousse, gel, pomade, and hairspray to tame your mane!    Pick shoes that will be easy to walk in at the location of the session.  For example, high heels are not recommended for sunflower shoots, but would look great in an urban/downtown setting.  Bring an extra jacket or cardigan to th

Destrie: I have always loved the name Diego, and so I knew when I had a second boy he would have that name. T.H. P.: What does big bro think? Destrie: His brother is in total awe of him. What a handsome little guy! I loved photographing Declan and his session was just perfect! I especially loved capturing the details like his spikey hair. Totally adorable! Hanna, who is a long time client, has recently begun helping us with newborns and it's been a huge blessing not only to our business but to her as well as she has had an opportunity to grow as a photographer herself and practice on getting better at wrapping and posing babies. She is growing by leaps and bounds and I am so thankful to have her on our team! She's someone I always appreciate having around! What a sweet baby! We had a wonderful time with Kayson and his mom and dad. They are so proud of him and you can tell they are going to raise him right and give him lots of love his whole life. Cove was the sweetest little girl. She was so mellow and easy to photograph. She was just the cutest baby. During our first moments together, she just stared at me and was so calm, I couldn’t have fallen more in love.  T.H. P.: How did you come up with her name? Sierra: Her big brothers name is Cash, so I knew I wanted another one syllable name. When I stumbled upon Cove and said the names together, it was an instant yes. She’s already gotten the nickname of Coco as well, which is so cute.  T.H. P.: What is life like with a new baby in the house?
