Cinai's senior shoot - Topeka West Class of 2023 - Topeka's Best Senior Portraits

Senior year is an exciting time in a young person's life. It's a time when they are looking forward to graduation and the next chapter of their life. To commemorate this special time, many students opt for senior portraits. These portraits are a way to capture the beauty of youth and to celebrate the journey that has brought them to this point.

Recently, we had the pleasure of photographing Cinai's senior portraits. It was an experience we will not forget anytime soon. We were excited to work with Cinai because he is extremely photogenic. He was also a great subject to work with, taking direction well and offering his own ideas.

Our first attempt to photograph Cinai's senior portraits was foiled by the wind. Unfortunately, the wind made it impossible. We rescheduled and we were able to get an amazing session. We started downtown, where Cinai showcased his drumming skills. The downtown setting provided an excellent backdrop for Cinai's portraits. The mix of architecture, art, and nature in the background made for some amazing photos

After our downtown shoot, we headed to Shawnee lake for some sunset photos. Cinai had brought along some dapper suits he had worn to winter formal and prom. We were blown away by how nice he looked in these suits! The sunset added a warm glow to the pictures, making them even more magical.

Overall, it was an unforgettable experience photographing Cinai's senior portraits. We were thrilled to have the opportunity to capture his beauty and showcase his unique personality. We hope that these portraits will serve as a reminder of this special time in his life and that they will be cherished for years to come.

How to Prepare for a Photo Session - Topeka's Best Family Portrait Photographers

Select outfits that will make for a timeless portrait. Choose practical clothing items, and keep the location and time of year in mind.  Select clothing items and accessories that are not too distracting or that you will have to adjust often during the session (think long necklaces or ruffled tops on a windy day).  Keep in mind the weather, wind speed, and humidity/chance of rain.  If you have littles, bring them some snacks to help give them incentives during the session.  This can help us to get kids to cooperate and make or break a session.  If it is windy, wear your hair up.  Trimming your bangs/hair slightly to keep them out of your eyes is a great idea, too! Use product like mousse, gel, pomade, and hairspray to tame your mane!    Pick shoes that will be easy to walk in at the location of the session.  For example, high heels are not recommended for sunflower shoots, but would look great in an urban/downtown setting.  Bring an extra jacket or cardigan to th

What a sweet baby! We had a wonderful time with Kayson and his mom and dad. They are so proud of him and you can tell they are going to raise him right and give him lots of love his whole life. Cove was the sweetest little girl. She was so mellow and easy to photograph. She was just the cutest baby.
