Trey Faimon - Class of 2023 - Burlington High School - Kansas Senior Portraits

We're finally getting caught up on blogging from a lot of sessions we did last year and earlier this year. This session was Trey from Burlington. It was an awesome session. Trey is definitely a gifted athlete. He trains hard and it was awesome to showcase that. I asked him his powerlifting totals and it was almost at a thousand pounds. That's grown up levels lol! I was very impressed. Trey was very nice and easy to photograph! It was a beautiful fall afternoon. We took these at his school and then out in the country at a beautiful property that made the session end amazingly. The sun set and warm glow were the perfect way to wrap up his session. Here are some of our favorites!

I had a great time photographing Kingston for his senior session, which we split into two days. He’s full of charisma and confidence, with a smile that can light up a room. Kingston’s passion for football really stood out during the first session at Washburn Rural's football field. You can tell he’s dedicated to the game—his energy was contagious as we captured action shots and moments in the locker room. Seeing him in his element, where he’s put in so much hard work, was inspiring. For the second session, we switched things up and headed to Clarion Woods. Interview with Aubrey Richman - Lyndon High Class of 2025 - Topeka's Best Senior Portraits

I had the best time photographing Aubrey from Lyndon High School for her senior session! We kicked things off in downtown Topeka, where Aubrey brought tons of energy and personality to every shot. She showcased her cheerleading skills, along with her love for volleyball, and her joy was contagious. Her beautiful smile lit up every scene, and it was so easy to capture her bright spirit. The weather was amazing, with clear skies and a perfect golden hour glow that made everything even better. As the sun began to set, we made our way to the Governor's Mansion, where the light was absolutely stunning. The final shots by the Kansas River were my favorites of the whole session. The soft colors from the sunset reflected on the water, adding a warm, natural touch to every photo. Our session with Willow was perfect! She is such a great model! Interestingly mom said she doesn't smile often with her teeth for photos but she smiled a lot for us, I'm so happy! We took these at an amazing location not far from our studio. I love it! It was an early morning session which was perfect because we got that beautiful warm light coming over the horizon. How to Prepare for a Photo Session - Topeka's Best Family Portrait Photographers

Select outfits that will make for a timeless portrait. Choose practical clothing items, and keep the location and time of year in mind.  Select clothing items and accessories that are not too distracting or that you will have to adjust often during the session (think long necklaces or ruffled tops on a windy day).  Keep in mind the weather, wind speed, and humidity/chance of rain.  If you have littles, bring them some snacks to help give them incentives during the session.  This can help us to get kids to cooperate and make or break a session.  If it is windy, wear your hair up.  Trimming your bangs/hair slightly to keep them out of your eyes is a great idea, too! Use product like mousse, gel, pomade, and hairspray to tame your mane!    Pick shoes that will be easy to walk in at the location of the session.  For example, high heels are not recommended for sunflower shoots, but would look great in an urban/downtown setting.  Bring an extra jacket or cardigan to th

Photographing Kaitlynn’s sweet 16 at Shawnee Lake was such a special experience. I’ve been taking her pictures since she was little, so it was amazing to see how much she’s grown up! The setting sun made everything look beautiful, and her outfits were perfect. She brought smoke bombs and balloons, which made the photos even more fun and colorful. Kaitlynn looked so natural in front of the camera. She’s always been photogenic, and she really shined in this session. It’s hard to believe she’s already 16! I’m glad I got to capture these memories for her—she’s grown into such an amazing young woman. Interview with Link - Speedway High School (Speedway, IN) - Class of 2025 - Topeka, KS Senior Portrait Photographers

Meeting Link and her crew was awesome! They were so fun and laid back. It was a blast. Link is from Indiana but was here on break and we were able to get some really creative images of her. I loved the color and beauty of her session. We took them in NOTO, Gage Park and a beautiful neighborhood nearby. The session just flew by as we got the best smiles and laughs. Bryer's Newborn Session - Interview with Mom - Topeka's Best Newborn Photographers

This week, I had the chance to photograph the sweetest little guy in our studio: baby Bryer. From the moment he arrived, he had this calm and curious vibe, just looking around and taking everything in. Bryer barely fussed, making it so easy to capture his adorable expressions, from wide-eyed stares to the cutest little smiles. He’s already got a special charm that made each photo feel unique. Bryer’s big brother, a lively toddler, joined in for some shots, and their connection was heartwarming. You could see the bond between them, with big brother being curious and gentle. Mom and Dad were absolutely smitten with both their boys and beamed through the whole session. This was an amazing baby session! Joshua is so handsome and cute and his parents are absolutely crazy about him. I loved everything about this session. I really enjoyed meeting and photographing Kylee. She is so photogenic and was a natural in front of the camera! Interview with Connor Olsen - Washburn Rural Class of 2025 - Topeka's Best Senior Portraits

I had an awesome time photographing Connor, a senior from Washburn Rural, who’s got such a fun personality and isn’t afraid to be himself. We started the session on the track to capture his love for running, where he just lit up, making jokes and not taking himself too seriously. The setting sun hit just right, casting that warm golden-hour glow over everything. Connor was full of energy, laughing and showing off his unique style, which made for some pretty great shots. After the track, we headed to a pond out back to capture Connor doing something else he loves: fishing. The pond was surrounded by tall grass that looked amazing in the sunset light. Connor seemed totally at peace, just enjoying the moment and cracking a few jokes here and there.
