Interview with Daniela Romero - Shawnee Heights Class of 2024 - Topeka's Best Senior Portraits

 

Daniela was awesome to photograph! She's so photogenic, clearly. But she was also a lot of fun to hang out with. Laid back personality and yet still confident and you can see that in her smile. She looked great with any expression and pose. This was an early morning shoot at Gage Park and I told them, they could not have picked a better location for her session. She looks perfect in the garden. Every angle made the perfect backdrop! Thanks for checking out Dani's session! Tell us which is your favorite!


T.H. Peterson: What are your plans after high school?

Daniela: I plan to go to college and work in the medical field. 


T.H. P.: What classes are you glad to be done with?

Daniela: English and physics. 

T.H. P.: What is your dream job?

Daniela: Dermatologist.

T.H. P.: What is your favorite outdoor activity?

Daniela: Shopping outdoors.

T.H. P.: Something you enjoyed about your session w us?

Daniela: You were funny and gave me good feedback. 

T.H. P.: Last movie you saw and what did you think?

Daniela: The Sound of Freedom. It was a very touching movie...so sad though.

T.H. P.: What motivates you?

Daniela: Money and (sometimes) competition.

T.H. P.: What is your favorite place to eat in Topeka?

Daniela: Chick-fil-A.

T.H. P.: What would people be surprised to learn about you?

Daniela: How funny I am.

T.H. P.: Describe your relationship with mom.  You guys seemed to get along great.

Daniela: She's my bestie and I'm her biggest headache.

I had a great time photographing Kingston for his senior session, which we split into two days. He’s full of charisma and confidence, with a smile that can light up a room. Kingston’s passion for football really stood out during the first session at Washburn Rural's football field. You can tell he’s dedicated to the game—his energy was contagious as we captured action shots and moments in the locker room. Seeing him in his element, where he’s put in so much hard work, was inspiring. For the second session, we switched things up and headed to Clarion Woods. We started at golden hour, and the timing was perfect. The light flowed beautifully through the tall grass as the sun began to set, giving a soft glow to every shot. The laid-back vibe and stunning weather made for an amazing experience. Kingston was relaxed and brought his same passion and energy to this session, making the whole shoot feel effortless and fun! Our session with Willow was perfect! She is such a great model! Interestingly mom said she doesn't smile often with her teeth for photos but she smiled a lot for us, I'm so happy! We took these at an amazing location not far from our studio. I love it! It was an early morning session which was perfect because we got that beautiful warm light coming over the horizon. Our session with Keagan was incredible. We took some at the weight room at Washburn where we had a great time capturing his passion for powerlifting and then some with his motorcycle and out at their property with his dirt bike and just getting some incredible sunset images. It was a beautiful morning and we started off at Gage Park in the rose garden. The perfect location for her! She is so photogenic and we got the best smiles! We then went downtown and to the capitol. This was an amazing baby session! Joshua is so handsome and cute and his parents are absolutely crazy about him. I loved everything about this session. This was a great session with lots of smiles and laughs and beautiful moments! They own a farm stand at  58th & Auburn Road and this was the perfect time to highlight their bountiful harvest! How to Prepare for a Photo Session - Topeka's Best Family Portrait Photographers

Select outfits that will make for a timeless portrait. Choose practical clothing items, and keep the location and time of year in mind.  Select clothing items and accessories that are not too distracting or that you will have to adjust often during the session (think long necklaces or ruffled tops on a windy day).  Keep in mind the weather, wind speed, and humidity/chance of rain.  If you have littles, bring them some snacks to help give them incentives during the session.  This can help us to get kids to cooperate and make or break a session.  If it is windy, wear your hair up.  Trimming your bangs/hair slightly to keep them out of your eyes is a great idea, too! Use product like mousse, gel, pomade, and hairspray to tame your mane!    Pick shoes that will be easy to walk in at the location of the session.  For example, high heels are not recommended for sunflower shoots, but would look great in an urban/downtown setting.  Bring an extra jacket or cardigan to th

Meeting Link and her crew was awesome! They were so fun and laid back. It was a blast. Link is from Indiana but was here on break and we were able to get some really creative images of her. I loved the color and beauty of her session. We took them in NOTO, Gage Park and a beautiful neighborhood nearby. The session just flew by as we got the best smiles and laughs.
