Fox's newborn session - Interview with Mom - Topeka's Best Newborn Photographers

Fox's session was just perfect, the cutest little model! All that blonde hair, so adorable! And photographing him with his family was extra special as well. I LOVE his name. So cute!! Here's some of our favorites from his session, thanks for checking it out!

T.H. Peterson: What did you think when you first saw Fox?

Madisyn: I’m so glad he’s finally here! 

T.H. P.: How did you come up with his name?

Madisyn: I know of another little boy named Fox and I thought it was so cute, I had to use it too.

T.H. P.: What do your kids think?

Madisyn: His big brother Cole loves him and is a big helper. His sister Rosie doesn’t seem to notice he’s here half the time though. 

T.H. P.: What is something you liked about your session with us?

Madisyn: I liked how laid back it was and you guys did a great job of getting him in the cutest poses! 

T.H. P.: What is life like with a new baby in the house?

Madisyn: It’s been a chaotic adjustment but we are so happy. Fox is such a good baby and we’ve luckily started to fall into a good routine between all 3 kiddos.

Meet Knox – the sweetest little guy! During his newborn session, he was such a joy to photograph. We used several adorable props and backdrops, and Knox gave us a little smile... basically we gushed over him! His expressions were so precious, showing off his personality even at such a young age. Knox’s mom and dad are absolutely crazy about him, and it’s easy to see why! They were glowing with love during the session, and it was so special to capture these moments for their family. Gabby's senior session was an absolute blast! From the moment we met, I felt like we clicked instantly—she's just that cool. She’s creative, artistic, and has such a fun, genuine personality. Lainey's Newborn Session - Interview with Mom - Topeka's Best Newborn Photographers

This was a very special session. Miss Lainey is so tiny and beautiful and her mommy and daddy are absolutely in love! She is so sweet. Mom and dad had a few ideas, including posing her with dad's BDUs from when he was in the Army. Those were really special. Here are a few of our favorites from the session! T.H. Peterson: What did you think when you first saw Lainey? Aubrey: How perfect and beautiful she was. That she is the final piece to our family.  T.H. P.: How did you come up with her name? Aubrey: We decided we wanted a Name that started L. Lainey’s dad would give lists of L names to me and I was never set on any of them. We almost decided to go with something different than L. I asked Chris his opinion of Lainey and he told me that he thought of that name recently but was done with getting turned down on all the lists of names he had came up with. That’s how we came up with Lainey. Jean is Lainey’s middle name and she gets that from her Mami (grandma) on her mother’s side....

How to Prepare for a Photo Session - Topeka's Best Family Portrait Photographers

Select outfits that will make for a timeless portrait. Choose practical clothing items, and keep the location and time of year in mind.  Select clothing items and accessories that are not too distracting or that you will have to adjust often during the session (think long necklaces or ruffled tops on a windy day).  Keep in mind the weather, wind speed, and humidity/chance of rain.  If you have littles, bring them some snacks to help give them incentives during the session.  This can help us to get kids to cooperate and make or break a session.  If it is windy, wear your hair up.  Trimming your bangs/hair slightly to keep them out of your eyes is a great idea, too! Use product like mousse, gel, pomade, and hairspray to tame your mane!    Pick shoes that will be easy to walk in at the location of the session.  For example, high heels are not recommended for sunflower shoots, but would look great in an urban/downtown ...

Ella, a senior from Silver Lake High School, was such a joy to photograph! She’s super photogenic and brought so much energy to her session. Ella is a talented athlete, playing basketball, volleyball, and running track, and it’s easy to see her confidence shine through. I recently had the joy of photographing an adorable baby named Forrest. He was so sweet, and his expressions could melt anyone’s heart. His mom was completely head over heels for him, and it was easy to see why. We set up a variety of different scenes to capture his cuteness, and he looked precious in every single one.
