Interview with Judd Holwick - McLouth High School Class of 2025 - Topeka's Best Senior Portraits

Judd is such a great guy. I thoroughly enjoyed hanging out with him. He has the best personality and you can tell quickly that he has a very kind and considerate heart. He also has a hilarious sense of humor which you can get a feel for from his interview. I really enjoyed photographing him and seeing his sister and mom again. We photographed his sister's senior photos before and Judd's session was just as fun! These are some of our favorites from his session! Enjoy!

T.H. Peterson: What are your plans after high school?

Judd: Still processing… I’m looking at lots of different options.

If I don’t play football, I will probably go to K-State. 


T.H. P.: Classes you’re glad to be done with?

Judd: Junior English. I like my teacher but not a fan of English as a subject. 

T.H. P.: How would your friends describe you?

Judd: Megatron, unpredictable, senseless but smart, sticks with his word, gambler (mostly on Battle Cats)

T.H. P.: Favorite outdoor activity? 

Judd: I have a lot of outdoor hobbies. Fishing, hunting, boating, but if I had to say one I would say Football. 

T.H. P.: Something you liked about your session with us?

Judd: The laughs, the nature walk, and my mom trying not to cry the whole time. 

T.H. P.: What would people be surprised to learn about you? 

Judd: On my back left molar tooth I have 6 points instead of 4. 

T.H. P.: Something obscure you’re an expert in? 

Judd: How long it takes to eat a grape without chewing. 19 minutes and 43 seconds to be exact. I can also make a master cup of hot chocolate. 

T.H. P.: What have been your fondest moments playing ball?

Judd: I have so many good memories  playing sports but as far as I can remember not running 2 super hills at the end of practice which are conditioning drills that you run and do bear crawls on, that’s about the best feeling. 

T.H. P.: Favorite pro athlete? 

Judd: Chris Jones or Mike Trout

T.H. P.: Song you could put on repeat all day. Judd: Words as Weapons by Seether

Shawn Preston - Washburn Rural Class of 2025 - Topeka's Best Senior Portraits

I had a great time hanging out with Shawn. I love how his session turned out. We started at the gym to get some great basketball shots of him. He's clearly very passionate about playing and I love how these images really capture that. We then headed to Gage Park and downtown. What started off as a cloudy day ended in the perfect pink and blue sky; the afterglow of the sun setting was just incredible. Photographing Ava was a treat. She is so photogenic and every portrait of her was perfect! I had the honor of photographing her and her step brother Braiden at their beautiful property on the outskirts of Topeka. I'll be sharing his blog post shortly. She has the best smile, she knew how to pose and genuinely had a great time in the session, despite the humidity and climbing temps. A Country Celebration: Ryan and Abigail's Love-Filled Wedding at Circle S Ranch - Lawrence, KS Wedding

In May, I had the chance to photograph Ryan and Abigail at Circle S Ranch, just outside of Lawrence, KS. The place was totally country with beautiful rolling hills stretching as far as the eye could see. It was a sunny, warm day, and you could just feel the love in the air. Abigail is a strong and lovely woman with so much personality and beauty. Her smile could light up a room, and she radiated confidence. Ryan, on the other hand, is the sweetest, funniest, and most tender person you'll ever meet. His playful nature and kind heart made it clear why Abigail fell for him. The moment Abigail came out for their first look was unforgettable. Ryan was in tears, overwhelmed by his love for her. They decided to exchange their vows privately, away from the crowd, which made the moment even more intimate and touching. The way they looked at each other during their vows was heartwarming. Charlie was the perfect little model. Just look at her face! She is so cute and weather she was sound asleep or awake, she had the best expression! Interview with Noah Robinson - Washburn Rural Class of 2025 - Topeka's Best Senior Portraits

We had a short amount of time with Noah and he had a lot of ideas, I was so excited! He's all country. Fishing, hunting, American Flag, dirtbikes and trucks. I was pretty much in heaven. I knew his session was going to be awesome. I also love his property, it's a great place to shoot. Noah's a little quiet but very photogenic and I could tell he had a great time! I love how these came out. Shooting on a bright and sunny day is one way to get really rich colors from the sky and landscape and I think they were the perfect backdrop for his session. Braxton's session was amazing. When I met him and then looked around at his property, I knew immediately we were going to be able to get incredible images. Not only was everything an incredible setting for him, we had the best clouds and skyline to accent his session. I had a ton of fun on his session and was impressed by his personality. How to Prepare for a Photo Session - Topeka's Best Family Portrait Photographers

Select outfits that will make for a timeless portrait. Choose practical clothing items, and keep the location and time of year in mind.  Select clothing items and accessories that are not too distracting or that you will have to adjust often during the session (think long necklaces or ruffled tops on a windy day).  Keep in mind the weather, wind speed, and humidity/chance of rain.  If you have littles, bring them some snacks to help give them incentives during the session.  This can help us to get kids to cooperate and make or break a session.  If it is windy, wear your hair up.  Trimming your bangs/hair slightly to keep them out of your eyes is a great idea, too! Use product like mousse, gel, pomade, and hairspray to tame your mane!    Pick shoes that will be easy to walk in at the location of the session.  For example, high heels are not recommended for sunflower shoots, but would look great in an urban/downtown setting.  Bring an extra jacket or cardigan to th

Braiden was fun to hang out with. I liked his personality and his sense of humor. He's a smart young man and I enjoyed spending time with him. I liked his subtle humor. He wasn't trying to be funny the whole time but he had me laughing nonetheless. I could tell he enjoyed the session and hanging out with his sister. They make a fun group. It was a muggy day, and I could tell they were being patient with the heat and in the end we got some amazing images. We were blessed with an incredible sunset.
