Interview with Kensley Podlena - Silver Lake Class of 2025 - Topeka's Best Senior Portraits

What a wonderful session! Kensley was so photogenic and beautiful! Her session was perfect the whole way through! She has a great smile and photographing her downtown and at Kaw River Park was the perfect locations for her! I also loved the last images we were able to get of her in Silver Lake on her football field. It was a beautiful and well rounded session. Even though not pictured here, we also were able to get some fun images of her with her sister together, recreating a fun photo from their childhood. I'm always thankful for our clients and their visions and excitement, definitely rubs off on me! Here's some of our favorites and her interview. Enjoy!


T.H. Peterson: What classes are you glad to be done with?  Kensley: Chemistry.

 

T.H. P.: What are your goals for your senior year? 

Kensley: To have fun and make more memories with my friends.

T.H. P.: What do you want to do after high school?

Kensley: Go to college for two years and then maybe try and enter Dental Hygiene school. I still am unsure though. 

T.H. P.: What is something you like about your session? 

Kensley: I liked how fun it was and how comfortable I felt.

T.H. P.: Where do you like to eat in Topeka? 

Kensley: Definitely Chic Fil A.

T.H. P.: What song reminds you of your childhood? 

Kensley: All of the old Taylor Swift songs because I literally owned all of her cds and was obsessed with her as a kid.

T.H. P.: What makes you feel confident? 

Kensley: When I am tan and when my nails are done. 

T.H. P.: Last movie you saw and what did you think? 

Kensley: Twisters. I thought it was pretty good. Just wish they kissed at the end though lol.

T.H. P.: What is the first thing you do when you get home from school? 

Kensley: Nap. 

T.H. P.: Favorite outdoor activity? Kensley: Going to the lake.

Select outfits that will make for a timeless portrait. Choose practical clothing items, and keep the location and time of year in mind.  Select clothing items and accessories that are not too distracting or that you will have to adjust often during the session (think long necklaces or ruffled tops on a windy day).  Keep in mind the weather, wind speed, and humidity/chance of rain.  If you have littles, bring them some snacks to help give them incentives during the session.  This can help us to get kids to cooperate and make or break a session.  If it is windy, wear your hair up.  Trimming your bangs/hair slightly to keep them out of your eyes is a great idea, too! Use product like mousse, gel, pomade, and hairspray to tame your mane!    Pick shoes that will be easy to walk in at the location of the session.  For example, high heels are not recommended for sunflower shoots, but would look great in an urban/downtown setting.  Bring an extra jacket or cardigan to th

Interview with Lilly Miller - Rossville High Class of 2025 - Topeka's Best Senior Portraits

Our session with Lilly was amazing! She is such a great model and looked amazing in every photo. I loved her energy and demeanor. She was laid back and very smiley and happy. It was really fun hanging out with her. Her locations were incredible and they made the perfect backdrops for her shoot. I could tell very quickly that Lilly will do very well in life. Miss Taylor was such a joy to photograph! We were blessed to capture multiple sessions with her. She is so photogenic and sweet. I love the images that we were able to make for her. No matter where we went or what we photographed, she looked beautiful! One of my favorite spots was behind the Governor's mansion at Kaw River Park, it was the perfect backdrop for her session! Grace and Andrew's engagement session ended up being so beautiful! KU is truly one of the most beautiful locations in our area. I told them any angle we point the camera, the background is just gorgeous. They were so much fun to photograph. Such good subjects! And their pup Bentley (I think!) He is adorable! Kiera's shoot was really awesome. The property we got to photograph on was so photogenic and I think was the perfect backdrop to show off her personality and passions! What a cutie! Miss Gabriella was such a smiley little girl and we got the best faces from her! This was a cake smash session so basically a milestone session to celebrate her first birthday. Malina is a great model! She came in for senior portraits and her session was just amazing! She was fun to photograph and I loved the look of her images, we took them in the middle of the day at Osage Lake and we were able to get some really rich colors and vibrant backgrounds that really complimented her outfits and mood of her session! Our session with Eli was great! It was a beautiful day and we focused on his passion for flying! I think in 20+ years, this was a first for me! So much fun and what an interesting experience! I learned a lot just being there and one thing that's always fun is it is a good opportunity for the senior being photographed to talk about what they do and that helps the session and the experience! I've known Eli since he was little and so this was a great moment to be able to capture this milestone for him and his family. He's a great kid with a bright future! T.H. Our session with Trenten was outstanding. It was great because we really got to showcase his passion in life which are the sports he plays. We highlighted wrestling, football and baseball.
