Lainey's newborn session - Interview with Mom - Topeka's Best Newborn Photographers

Our session with Lainey was perfect. She was such a beautiful little model. We took her session with her family and her big brothers were adorable and a lot of fun. Clearly mom and dad are crazy about her. We were able to get lots of beautiful images! Here are just a few of our favorites!

T.H. Peterson: What did you think when you first saw Lainey?

Laura: When I first saw Lainey I asked if she was still a girl (LOL)

I have two boys and she is the first girl in the Worcester family in

almost 19 years. I thought she had beautiful eyelashes and looked

like her big brother Casby. 


T.H. P.: How did you come up with her name?

Laura: We came up with her name because my husband and two boys are "C" names and so we wanted her to be an "L" name like me. The only name we really liked and could agree on was Lainey. Kristine is my mothers first name and my middle name as well. 


T.H. P.: What do big bros think?

Laura:  Big brothers love her very aggressively. Casby is always asking to hold her, Corbyn loves bringing her blankets and toys and her pacifier. They are obsessed and always ask where she's at if they dont see her. 

T.H. P.: Something you liked about your session with us?

Laura: I loved how comfortable we all felt and my boys were running around and it wasn't an issue, I also loved all the different props you had and how wonderful you guys were with Lainey. 

T.H. P.: Any special cravings or food aversions when you were pregnant?

Laura: I craved Mexican food a ton and towards the end lots of sweets.

Brody and Kiera in the studio! Fun family mini session - Topeka's Best Family Photographers

I had so much fun photographing Brody and Kiera, a pair of high school siblings who came to the studio for a just-for-fun session! Their bond was easy to see, laughing and teasing. They brought such a natural vibe to every shot. I love sessions like this that capture the joy of family without needing a special occasion. We also brought their hobbies into the session to show off their personalities. Kiera, a talented ballet dancer, posed with grace, while Brody, a baseball player, brought his sporty style. Luciana's Newborn Session - Interview with Mom - Topeka's Best Newborn Photographers

Erika and Brad are the sweetest family, and I loved photographing their newborn session. Their new baby, Luciana, has so much hair that I joked it looked like a wig! Her big sister, Addy, wasn’t too interested in the session, but we still managed to capture some really sweet moments of them together. Even though this was a quick session, we got some beautiful images of their little family. Newborn sessions are always special, but there’s something extra sweet about capturing those early days with a new baby. Luciana was so peaceful, and her tiny features were just perfect. How to Prepare for a Photo Session - Topeka's Best Family Portrait Photographers

Select outfits that will make for a timeless portrait. Choose practical clothing items, and keep the location and time of year in mind.  Select clothing items and accessories that are not too distracting or that you will have to adjust often during the session (think long necklaces or ruffled tops on a windy day).  Keep in mind the weather, wind speed, and humidity/chance of rain.  If you have littles, bring them some snacks to help give them incentives during the session.  This can help us to get kids to cooperate and make or break a session.  If it is windy, wear your hair up.  Trimming your bangs/hair slightly to keep them out of your eyes is a great idea, too! Use product like mousse, gel, pomade, and hairspray to tame your mane!    Pick shoes that will be easy to walk in at the location of the session.  For example, high heels are not recommended for sunflower shoots, but would look great in an urban/downtown ...

Azaria’s senior session was one to remember! We braved the freezing cold, with snow covering the ground, to capture her love for softball. The golden hour sunset added a warm glow, making the field look magical. She brought along softball shirts from childhood and past teams, a special touch that told the story of her journey. Despite the cold, Azaria did amazing, smiling through every shot and showcasing her passion for the game. Her confidence and determination shone through, creating beautiful and meaningful photos. Meet sweet baby Amelia! She was an absolute dream during her newborn session—so smiley and full of sweetness. She slept soundly, letting us gently pose her, and was the perfect little model. Welcoming baby Crew into the world was such a joy! This newborn session was all about capturing the love this family shares, and Crew was absolutely adorable. He was a little fussy at times but quickly settled, allowing us to get some beautiful images. Even when he was wide awake, his big, bright eyes stole the show! Zendaya was an absolute dream to photograph! She was calm, sweet, and full of the most precious expressions. From tiny smiles to curious looks, she gave us so many beautiful moments to capture. Her family adores her, and it’s easy to see why—she is already surrounded by so much love. Whitney: I thought she looked exactly like her brother when he was born.  T.H. P.: How did you come up with her name? Whitney: We actually had planned on naming her Delilah through the whole pregnancy. When we were walking into the hospital we decided my husband would pick her name as a surprise since I chose our son’s name. I didn’t know what her name was until she was born.
