Ethan's newborn session - Interview with Mom - Topeka's Best Newborn Photographers

Ethan was such a joy to photograph during his newborn session! He is a beautiful, mellow little guy with big, sweet eyes and the most precious expressions. He made our job so easy with how chill and happy he was throughout the session. His big sister was just as adorable, and we had so much fun capturing the two of them together with some really cute sibling moments.

It was truly a family affair, and we were able to get some wonderful pictures of the whole family together. Ethan was an absolute dream to work with, and we are so thankful for the opportunity to capture these memories. We just love how the photos turned out and can’t wait for the family to enjoy them for years to come.

T.H.P.: What did you think when you first saw Ethan?
Crystal: Our family is complete and my heart filled with love even more than I knew it could.


T.H.P.: How did you come up with his name?
Crystal: We wanted to keep the alphabet theme going (I'm a teacher), so it was time for an "E" name. I liked the name Ethan, and it just so happened that my husband's first best friend was named that. It meant a lot to the both of us to honor his friend with having Ethan named after him.

T.H.P.: Something you liked about your session with us?
Crystal: The girls and Tommy were beyond inviting to us. They did everything we asked (we brought our own outfits and props) and more. They were extremely patient and kind to our 3-year-old, Ava, as well.
T.H.P.: What does Ava think?
Crystal: She loves her baby brother and loves to give him kisses! She is such a big help and we never have to ask her twice to help us.
T.H.P.: What was the hardest part of your pregnancy?
Crystal: Realizing that we were going to have another child in our lives and Ava wouldn't be the only one. My husband and I quickly learned that we were silly to worry about sharing our time with Ava because Ethan fits right in with our family dynamic.

Sweet baby Radley was just three days old for his newborn session, and he was the calmest, chill little guy you could imagine. Such a tiny little thing, with the softest features and the sweetest expressions, he gave us a session full of quiet moments, tiny smirks, and little smiles that made everyone melt. He was so relaxed the entire time, which made it easy to capture those peaceful, cozy newborn images that parents love looking back on. Hayes was such a beautiful baby boy! He had lots of hair and was so peaceful and chill, which made our job so much fun. Even though he slept most of the time, every once in a while he would peek his eyes open and give us the funniest little looks. You could tell right away that he had a lot of personality. Mom and Dad are completely smitten with him—they just can’t get over how cute he is! I’m so excited about how these photos turned out. Emmy Sue was an absolute dream to photograph. She is beautiful, with perfect skin, and gave us the sweetest little smiles and smirks throughout her session. Baby Benjamin’s newborn session was such a sweet and special experience. He is a tiny, beautiful little guy, and from the moment we started, you could feel how excited Mom and Dad were to be there. We took our time and worked carefully to create soft, beautiful images of him, and he gave us the most adorable little expressions. Interview with Laci Cole - Seaman High Class of 2026 - Topeka's Best Senior Portraits

Laci was such a joy to photograph. From the moment she walked into the studio, she was friendly, relaxed, and incredibly easy to work with. She has a great smile and is very photogenic, which always makes a session flow effortlessly. Nothing ever felt awkward, even in between shots, and that made the whole experience feel natural and fun. Her outfits were perfect too—they fit the mood of the photos so well and really pulled everything together. It was also one of those cold, snowy days, so we started inside the studio where it was warm, but we couldn’t resist stepping outside for a few shots. Even with the freezing temps, we were able to capture some really cool images with the snow, and they turned out amazing. It was so nice meeting Laci and her mom—they were both wonderful. How to Prepare for a Photo Session - Topeka's Best Family Portrait Photographers

Select outfits that will make for a timeless portrait. Choose practical clothing items, and keep the location and time of year in mind.  Select clothing items and accessories that are not too distracting or that you will have to adjust often during the session (think long necklaces or ruffled tops on a windy day).  Keep in mind the weather, wind speed, and humidity/chance of rain.  If you have littles, bring them some snacks to help give them incentives during the session.  This can help us to get kids to cooperate and make or break a session.  If it is windy, wear your hair up.  Trimming your bangs/hair slightly to keep them out of your eyes is a great idea, too! Use product like mousse, gel, pomade, and hairspray to tame your mane!    Pick shoes that will be easy to walk in at the location of the session.  For example, high heels are not recommended for sunflower shoots, but would look great in an urban/downtown ...

Kyren was truly one of the most chill babies we’ve ever photographed. From the moment he came in, he was calm, sweet, and just went with the flow. He has so much hair and gave us the cutest little expressions throughout the session. Honestly, he made our job so easy. He let us move him, pose him, and try different setups without a fuss. Sessions like that are such a gift, and we were able to capture some really beautiful images of him. This was also one of the sessions where our new assistants were getting some hands-on practice, and they had the best time working with Kyren. Delainey was the most perfect little baby! Tiny, precious, and so peaceful, she slept right through almost her entire session. It was a practice session for one of our newer baby assistants, and Delainey made it so easy to wrap and pose her perfectly. She really was a dream to work with!
