Carter's newborn session - Interview with Mom - Topeka's Best Newborn Photographers
There is something so special about welcoming a new baby, and Carter was an absolute joy to photograph. From the moment we started, I noticed his thick little tuft of hair sticking up like a tiny mohawk, and it was just the cutest thing. He is such a precious and expressive baby. It took him a little while to settle into a deep sleep, which is completely normal, but once he did, we were able to create some beautiful images. He even gave us a few adorable smiles that completely melted our hearts.
One of the sweetest parts of the session was seeing how much his big sister loves him. She was so interested in everything we were doing and was excited to help and be close to her new baby brother. Mom and Dad were definitely showing the normal signs of life with a newborn and a growing family, but you could also see how happy and proud they are. It is always an honor to capture these moments for families, and we are so grateful we had the opportunity to photograph Carter during this special time in their lives. These are some of our favorite images from his session.
T.H. Peterson: What did you think when you first saw Carter?
Payton: We were in love! We were so excited to have a boy and I was even more excited when I saw all of his hair!
T.H. P.: How did you come up with his name?
Payton: We actually were stuck between two names and decided the day he was born after we saw him.
T.H. P.: What does big sis think?
Payton: Big sister LOVES him. She loves holding his hand and doing anything to help Mom and Dad with him.
T.H. P.: What is life like with a new baby in the house?
Payton: Going from 1 to 2 kids has definitely seemed harder than going from 0 to 1, but we’re adjusting and loving having two beautiful kiddos now!
Payton: All of the photo setups were super cute and Tommy and Liz were both so nice to work with!
T.H. P.: Did you have any food aversions or cravings during pregnancy?
Payton: I didn’t have any food aversions really this second pregnancy, but I craved ice cream, peanut butter and jelly, and Qdoba.
