 When Amanda called us about doing her senior portraits, we were TOTALLY STOKED!! I knew she would do amazing and was so excited to know that she would even consider using us!
 We woke up when it was still dark Monday morning and it was misty and dark and cold. We all thought, oh no! But it turned out to make for some very soft and beautiful and interesting light. Normally, the way we shoot, we want lots of light but even though this was quite different than the way we normally do things, I loved the end results! With all that said, Amanda was very cooperative and in a wonderful mood and we made the best of the situation.


We really, really love photographing seniors in a way that we feel is different than most other kind of sessions. They have waited years to become seniors and graduate and this is sort of a rite of passage and a honor and right and feel that we need to make the occasion as special as possible.

 We really love the fun and colorful outfits Amanda chose and think they were perfect for the day. We really needed the color considering the weather and it was just perfect in our opinion!

 Her younger brother and mom came along for support and were really helpful! We appreciate them being there!
 We found this location and TOTALLY LOVED IT!!! She's perfect there! One of my absolute favorites!

Interview with Aubrey Richman - Lyndon High Class of 2025 - Topeka's Best Senior Portraits

I had the best time photographing Aubrey from Lyndon High School for her senior session! We kicked things off in downtown Topeka, where Aubrey brought tons of energy and personality to every shot. She showcased her cheerleading skills, along with her love for volleyball, and her joy was contagious. Her beautiful smile lit up every scene, and it was so easy to capture her bright spirit. The weather was amazing, with clear skies and a perfect golden hour glow that made everything even better. As the sun began to set, we made our way to the Governor's Mansion, where the light was absolutely stunning. The final shots by the Kansas River were my favorites of the whole session. The soft colors from the sunset reflected on the water, adding a warm, natural touch to every photo. Our session with Willow was perfect! She is such a great model! Interestingly mom said she doesn't smile often with her teeth for photos but she smiled a lot for us, I'm so happy! We took these at an amazing location not far from our studio. I love it! It was an early morning session which was perfect because we got that beautiful warm light coming over the horizon. How to Prepare for a Photo Session - Topeka's Best Family Portrait Photographers

Select outfits that will make for a timeless portrait. Choose practical clothing items, and keep the location and time of year in mind.  Select clothing items and accessories that are not too distracting or that you will have to adjust often during the session (think long necklaces or ruffled tops on a windy day).  Keep in mind the weather, wind speed, and humidity/chance of rain.  If you have littles, bring them some snacks to help give them incentives during the session.  This can help us to get kids to cooperate and make or break a session.  If it is windy, wear your hair up.  Trimming your bangs/hair slightly to keep them out of your eyes is a great idea, too! Use product like mousse, gel, pomade, and hairspray to tame your mane!    Pick shoes that will be easy to walk in at the location of the session.  For example, high heels are not recommended for sunflower shoots, but would look great in an urban/downtown setting.  Bring an extra jacket or cardigan to th

This was an amazing baby session! Joshua is so handsome and cute and his parents are absolutely crazy about him. I loved everything about this session. Meeting Link and her crew was awesome! They were so fun and laid back. It was a blast. Link is from Indiana but was here on break and we were able to get some really creative images of her. I really enjoyed meeting and photographing Kylee. She is so photogenic and was a natural in front of the camera! Her session took place about a month ago and it was the perfect afternoon / evening for her session. Her locations were perfect and the light was gorgeous! She looked amazing against the setting sun. Bryer's Newborn Session - Interview with Mom - Topeka's Best Newborn Photographers

This week, I had the chance to photograph the sweetest little guy in our studio: baby Bryer. From the moment he arrived, he had this calm and curious vibe, just looking around and taking everything in. Bryer barely fussed, making it so easy to capture his adorable expressions, from wide-eyed stares to the cutest little smiles. He’s already got a special charm that made each photo feel unique. Bryer’s big brother, a lively toddler, joined in for some shots, and their connection was heartwarming. You could see the bond between them, with big brother being curious and gentle. Mom and Dad were absolutely smitten with both their boys and beamed through the whole session. Gemma and Terry tie the knot! Beautiful Hoyt Wedding - Topeka KS Wedding Photographers

I had the pleasure of photographing Gemma and Terry's wedding at the community building in the park in Hoyt. It was such a beautiful, sunny fall day, perfect for their special moment. The park setting gave the whole ceremony a warm, intimate feeling, and the colorful leaves in the trees added to the beauty of the day. They were surrounded by close friends and family, who made everything feel even more personal and special. Gemma was a bit nervous as the ceremony started, but when Terry saw her, his face lit up with pure joy. It was such a sweet moment. Their kids were also really excited and having a great time. Throughout the day, you could just feel the love and happiness from everyone who came. There were so many hugs, lots of smiles, and a few tears too, as their friends and family celebrated with them. Interview with Connor Olsen - Washburn Rural Class of 2025 - Topeka's Best Senior Portraits

I had an awesome time photographing Connor, a senior from Washburn Rural, who’s got such a fun personality and isn’t afraid to be himself. We started the session on the track to capture his love for running, where he just lit up, making jokes and not taking himself too seriously. The setting sun hit just right, casting that warm golden-hour glow over everything. Connor was full of energy, laughing and showing off his unique style, which made for some pretty great shots. After the track, we headed to a pond out back to capture Connor doing something else he loves: fishing. The pond was surrounded by tall grass that looked amazing in the sunset light. Connor seemed totally at peace, just enjoying the moment and cracking a few jokes here and there.
