Stalcup Wedding - Erin and Jay-Michael say their I DOs - Creekside at Berryton - Topeka KS

Erin and Jay-Michael's wedding day was something spectacular! So many amazing moments and memories I'll have from that day and we're so thankful and happy that we got to be a part of it! First of all, they are such a sweet couple... a sweet family. Their children are BEAUTIFUL and so photogenic! We've been blessed to be able to photograph them on multiple occasions and it's always a blast. Secondly, the location was Creekside at Berryton and that is an awesome venue for a wedding! It's outdoors and rustic and very beautiful. It's always fun and helpful when our weddings are at such beautiful places! I highly suggest Creekside! 
Next, Erin and Jay-Michael's family and friends are so awesome! They truly made the day enjoyable and fun! We always love having a lively group full of personality and these guys did not disappoint! It was really one of my favorite weddings we've shot in a very long time! The crazy thing was it POURED so much that everyone began to be concerned that we may have to find shelter. Luckily it did not turn ugly but the crazy weather did get everybody drenched! Fortunately severe weather can lead to some amazing clouds which make for beautiful photos! They did not let a little rain get them down. They still partied hard! All in all, it was a very beautiful and super fun day! Here are a few highlights and at the bottom of the blog post you'll find a slideshow where you can see many more images from the day! I think you'll love it!

Now this was a special session! It's not often we photograph multiples for newborn sessions but these little girls were just perfect and despite them being born several months ago, because they were so premature they photographed just like brand new newborns! We had the most absolutely perfect day for the Popkess family's spring session at Ward Meade. Sadly the tulips are all gone however the lush greenery made a perfect backdrop anywhere we posed this adorable family! How to Prepare for a Photo Session - Topeka's Best Family Portrait Photographers

Select outfits that will make for a timeless portrait. Choose practical clothing items, and keep the location and time of year in mind.  Select clothing items and accessories that are not too distracting or that you will have to adjust often during the session (think long necklaces or ruffled tops on a windy day).  Keep in mind the weather, wind speed, and humidity/chance of rain.  If you have littles, bring them some snacks to help give them incentives during the session.  This can help us to get kids to cooperate and make or break a session.  If it is windy, wear your hair up.  Trimming your bangs/hair slightly to keep them out of your eyes is a great idea, too! Use product like mousse, gel, pomade, and hairspray to tame your mane!    Pick shoes that will be easy to walk in at the location of the session.  For example, high heels are not recommended for sunflower shoots, but would look great in an urban/downtown setting.  Bring an extra jacket or cardigan to th

Hanna, who is a long time client, has recently begun helping us with newborns and it's been a huge blessing not only to our business but to her as well as she has had an opportunity to grow as a photographer herself and practice on getting better at wrapping and posing babies. What a sweet baby! We had a wonderful time with Kayson and his mom and dad. They are so proud of him and you can tell they are going to raise him right and give him lots of love his whole life. Cove was the sweetest little girl. She was so mellow and easy to photograph. She was just the cutest baby. Sierra: Her big brothers name is Cash, so I knew I wanted another one syllable name. When I stumbled upon Cove and said the names together, it was an instant yes.
