Camden turns 6 months! First Year Baby Plan - Topeka's Best Baby Photographers

Happy to share our session with Camden! He's in our First Year Baby Plan so you may recognize him from the blog. This means we've photographed him for his 3 month session and you'll see him again in a few months. Camden is just a little guy, but he has a lot of personality! His smile is super adorable and he could pretty much do whatever he wanted and we were all smiling. Camden did great on his belly and he needed some help sitting up but he rocked that too! We took these today at Ward Meade which was the perfect backdrop for his session!! For little kids, I love it! It's such a great location with beautiful scenes. We're big fans! Interview with Coby Branson - SFT Class of 2026 - Topeka's Best Senior Portraits

We had such a great time photographing Coby for his senior session! I’ve photographed him a few times over the years, so it was really special to capture this milestone for him. Coby goes to Santa Fe Trail and plays baseball, and he’s just a really good guy—confident, down-to-earth, and easy to be around. We started part of his session on their property and then headed to a farm just north of Scranton. The views out there were amazing, and it felt like everything lined up perfectly for us. He really wanted a sunset for his senior photos, and wow, did we get one! The golden hour light that evening was absolutely stunning—the kind of sunset I rarely get to see. We even had the tallest hill in Osage City as the backdrop for part of the shoot, which made it extra unique. The colors, the light, and Coby’s relaxed personality all came together perfectly. We had such a great time photographing Addy’s senior session! We started in the studio and then headed out around Scranton and down to the lake. It was a beautiful day — perfect weather and golden light! Like most seniors, Addy took a little bit to warm up in front of the camera, but once she did, her real smile came out, and it was absolutely gorgeous. She has such a natural, genuine smile, and it was so fun capturing that on camera. We had such a great time photographing Liam for his senior photos! He was super easy to work with and made the whole session fun. We started at his school, capturing him on the track and soccer field, especially doing hurdles—something he’s really passionate about. You could tell just how much he loves what he does, and it really shows in his photos. Liam is very photogenic and seemed to naturally know how to pose, which made our job even easier. After wrapping up at the school, we headed downtown and then out to the country to catch the setting sun over the beautiful rural Kansas landscape. We had such a great time photographing Maddie for her senior session! She’s a senior at Topeka West, super friendly, and so easy to photograph. We started downtown and got some really beautiful shots there. Even in the middle of the city, the sunlight came through just right and made her hair glow. She looked absolutely stunning in those sunlit photos! After downtown, we headed to a few spots near the Governor’s Mansion where the light was just perfect. The sun shining through the leaves and tall grass gave everything this warm, golden feel that looked amazing. Maddie was a total natural in front of the camera and made the whole session fun. I was so excited to photograph Austin for his senior session! I’ve had the pleasure of photographing him and his family for many years, and it was such a joy to see him step into this milestone. Just like his older brother and sister, we started on the family property, capturing beautiful images by the pond and around the barns. Austin is incredibly photogenic, and his easygoing personality made every shot feel natural. I especially loved the sunrise photos at the pond—the light coming over the trees created such a magical, peaceful mood that really made the session stand out. We also made sure to capture Austin doing what he loves, so we headed to his football and baseball fields at school. It was awesome to see his passion shine through in the photos, whether he was posing with his gear or just showing his love for the game. How to Prepare for a Photo Session - Topeka's Best Family Portrait Photographers

Select outfits that will make for a timeless portrait. Choose practical clothing items, and keep the location and time of year in mind.  Select clothing items and accessories that are not too distracting or that you will have to adjust often during the session (think long necklaces or ruffled tops on a windy day).  Keep in mind the weather, wind speed, and humidity/chance of rain.  If you have littles, bring them some snacks to help give them incentives during the session.  This can help us to get kids to cooperate and make or break a session.  If it is windy, wear your hair up.  Trimming your bangs/hair slightly to keep them out of your eyes is a great idea, too! Use product like mousse, gel, pomade, and hairspray to tame your mane!    Pick shoes that will be easy to walk in at the location of the session.  For example, high heels are not recommended for sunflower shoots, but would look great in an urban/downtown ...

Ryan’s senior session was such an awesome one! We started downtown and even made our way up to a parking garage that overlooked Topeka — the view was incredible. We made sure to include some shots with his car, which looked great against the city backdrop. After that, we headed out to the country just in time for sunset, and it couldn’t have been more perfect. The fall colors were glowing, and the light was absolutely beautiful. Ryan has such a great smile and an easygoing personality that made the whole session a blast. Interview with Bryce Cormier - Silver Lake High School Class of 2026 - Topeka's Best Senior Portraits

Bryce is a really great senior from Silver Lake High School, and his session was a blast. We started at Shawnee Lake, where we photographed him in his wrestling gear, complete with medals and uniforms—it was really awesome to showcase that part of his personality. We also got some fun shots with his fishing pole, capturing a mix of his interests. Then we headed downtown, and the evening was just perfect—the golden hour made every shot pop. Bryce has an amazing smile and was super easy to work with, which made getting a variety of photos a lot of fun. One of my favorite parts of the session was photographing him with his Dodge Charger. That bright orange car is stunning and really shows off his personality. We got shots that were playful, some more serious, and plenty that felt completely natural.
