Interview with Hannah Pursley - SFT Class of 2019 - Topeka's Best Senior Portrait Photographers

I really loved photographing Hannah. She has such a beautiful smile!! She goes to school at Santa Fe Trail and so as usual it's really great to be able to photograph someone really local. We hesitated about doing her session that morning because of the rain but the skies cleared up and gave us a beautiful sunny day. I loved her location and outfits but the most striking thing about Hannah was her smile, very confident and beautiful. I am thankful for the opportunity we had to photograph her and I am thrilled with the end results! Read her interview. It's great!
T.H. Peterson: What do you like most about SFT?
Hannah: I like that SFT is a small enough school that you can get to know everyone.
T.H. P.: Any plans for summer?
Hannah: Babysitting and spending a lot of time at the pool.
T.H. P.: What are you looking forward to most your senior year?
Hannah: Trying to get a better idea of what I want to do after college.
T.H. P.: What college Are you looking at?
Hannah: I’ve toured Emporia and really enjoyed it but I haven’t fully decided yet.
T.H. P.: What did you like most about your shoot with us?
Hannah: You guys made me laugh.
T.H. P.: Favorite singer or band from when you were a child?
Hannah: Bruno Mars
T.H. P.: How would your friends describe you?
Hannah: Funny, caring, and understanding.
T.H. P.: What would you describe as your dream job?
Hannah: Elephant trainer.
T.H. P.: Describe a great quality about yourself and something you'd like to improve about yourself?
Hannah: A great quality that I have is I’m always there when people need me, I would say I need to work on being more positive.
T.H. P.: What do you think adults could learn from your generation?
Hannah: How to have fun.
T.H. P.: What are your favorite kinds of movies?
Hannah: Sad movies are my favorite.
T.H. P.: What is a super sad movie that you really love?
Hannah: The Fault in our Stars.

How to Prepare for a Photo Session - Topeka's Best Family Portrait Photographers

Select outfits that will make for a timeless portrait. Choose practical clothing items, and keep the location and time of year in mind.  Select clothing items and accessories that are not too distracting or that you will have to adjust often during the session (think long necklaces or ruffled tops on a windy day).  Keep in mind the weather, wind speed, and humidity/chance of rain.  If you have littles, bring them some snacks to help give them incentives during the session.  This can help us to get kids to cooperate and make or break a session.  If it is windy, wear your hair up.  Trimming your bangs/hair slightly to keep them out of your eyes is a great idea, too! Use product like mousse, gel, pomade, and hairspray to tame your mane!    Pick shoes that will be easy to walk in at the location of the session.  For example, high heels are not recommended for sunflower shoots, but would look great in an urban/downtown setting.  Bring an extra jacket or cardigan to th

Tracer was such a sweet baby! I remember almost immediately when we started the session, he was comfortable and ready to be posed. Usually it takes a min to get them settled but he was a very good baby. I mean just look at that smile. He smiled almost right at the beginning and he was just a blast to photograph! Sawyer is a CUTE kid! He was so chill and photographing him was a blast. I love the portraits we got of him and the images with mom and dad are super special! Hanna, who is a long time client, has recently begun helping us with newborns and it's been a huge blessing not only to our business but to her as well as she has had an opportunity to grow as a photographer herself and practice on getting better at wrapping and posing babies. What a sweet baby! We had a wonderful time with Kayson and his mom and dad. They are so proud of him and you can tell they are going to raise him right and give him lots of love his whole life.
