Rosemary's Newborn session - Interview with Mom - Beautiful Newborn Session - Topeka Newborn Photographer

Check out this perfect little princess, Rosemary!  What an angel!  We really enjoyed shooting her newborn pictures, and when she was all dressed up, she looked like a porcelain doll.  Rosemary is so very special and is deeply loved by her family, and we can see why. T. H. Peterson: What was your first thought when you saw Rosemary?
Abigail Cox: When we first got an ultrasound done, I cried. When we found out she was a girl, I cried. So of course when she was born, I cried. I remember looking up at my husband and just smiling because she was so perfect and she was finally out in the world.
T. H. P.: How did you come up with her name?
Abigail Cox: I had a couple of names picked out for boys and girls. I decided I wanted to call her Rosie, and then from there we agreed that her full name would be Rosemary Grace.

T. H. P.: What was your biggest food craving during pregnancy?
Abigail Cox: I always wanted pizza. I have a tomato allergy, but was able to have them during pregnancy, and took full advantage of that.
T. H. P.: Describe Rosemary in one word.
Abigail Cox: One word to describe Rosie would be perfect (but also sassy).
T. H. P.: Who do you think she looks like most?
Abigail Cox: She is a carbon copy of me as a baby! And somehow, the older she gets, the more she looks like me

Now this was a special session! It's not often we photograph multiples for newborn sessions but these little girls were just perfect and despite them being born several months ago, because they were so premature they photographed just like brand new newborns! Recently, we photographed Sarah, my assistant (of many years) she’s incredible! Always professional, friendly and fun to be around. I asked her to do a write up for her blog post. Here’s what she wrote: My first experience with T.H. Peterson Photography was 8 years ago. I saw an add for his spring mini sessions and thought it would be a perfect fit for my husband (who hates photos) and my four small kids. How to Prepare for a Photo Session - Topeka's Best Family Portrait Photographers

Select outfits that will make for a timeless portrait. Choose practical clothing items, and keep the location and time of year in mind.  Select clothing items and accessories that are not too distracting or that you will have to adjust often during the session (think long necklaces or ruffled tops on a windy day).  Keep in mind the weather, wind speed, and humidity/chance of rain.  If you have littles, bring them some snacks to help give them incentives during the session.  This can help us to get kids to cooperate and make or break a session.  If it is windy, wear your hair up.  Trimming your bangs/hair slightly to keep them out of your eyes is a great idea, too! Use product like mousse, gel, pomade, and hairspray to tame your mane!    Pick shoes that will be easy to walk in at the location of the session.  For example, high heels are not recommended for sunflower shoots, but would look great in an urban/downtown setting.  Bring an extra jacket or cardigan to th

Tracer was such a sweet baby! I remember almost immediately when we started the session, he was comfortable and ready to be posed. Usually it takes a min to get them settled but he was a very good baby. I mean just look at that smile. He smiled almost right at the beginning and he was just a blast to photograph! Sawyer is a CUTE kid! He was so chill and photographing him was a blast. I love the portraits we got of him and the images with mom and dad are super special! Mr Walter is such a precious little baby! We had a great time posing him and working with him. He has such a sweet face. What a cute face! Ferris was the perfect little model! He was such a sweet baby and even though he did not want to go to bed easily, he gave us adorable expressions and I think these photos show off his personality. He is a handsome little boy! Interview with Deacon Crumpton - SFT Class of 2024 - Topeka's Best Senior Portraits

Deacon was fun to hang out with. He is very photogenic and capturing his personality and energy was a blast. We had such a great evening to get these images of him. And even though we took these pretty much in the dead of winter, you'd really never know. The temps were great and the trees looked incredible in the glow of the setting sun.
