Interview with Kelsey Herman - Washburn Rural High Class of 2021 - Topeka's Best Senior Portraits

 Kelsey is one of the happiest, most photogenic seniors we have ever had the pleasure of photographing! Not only did she blow us away with her adorable smile, bright eyes, and beautiful hair, but she had a personality that radiated throughout the entire session!  She was so fun to be around, and we know how much joy she brings to her mom’s life.  We could see it in her mom’s smile as she watched her session.  She is definitely a bright light in this world, with a positive attitude.  From the state capitol to the governor’s mansion, there wasn’t a pose she didn’t look dynamite in!  Kelsey’s session will knock your socks off!  Enjoy!
 T.H. Peterson:  What is your favorite class from high school and why?
 Kelsey:  PE classes. I can let out all of my energy and play fun games.
 T.H. P.:   If money was no object, what kind of vehicle would you drive and why?
 Kelsey:  White Jeep Wrangler. They look clean and beautiful!
 T.H. P.:   What would people be surprised to learn about you?
 Kelsey:  I’m not easily disgusted by things.
  T.H. P.:   What is your favorite thing about going to High School?
  Kelsey:   Making new friends and going to fun events with my friends.
 T.H. P.:   So are you going to college? If so, what are you going to study?
 Kelsey:  Yes, I’m going to be a labor and delivery nurse.
 T.H. P.:   What would be a dream job unrelated to your current plans after high school? (Like not in the same field you will be studying)
 Kelsey:  A travel influencer/ a model
 T.H. P.:   What do you like to do for fun?
 Kelsey:   Dance and be in the great outdoors with my friends and family
 T.H. P.:   What movie from your childhood do you watch now and relate to the most?
 Kelsey:   Goonies
 T.H. P.:  What was your favorite part of the session with us?
 Kelsey:  I was comfortable being around the photographers and I felt beautiful!!

Photographing Ty was a blast, he had such a laid back personality and was really easy to pose and direct. Lots of times senior boys take a while to get comfortable and into the shoot, Ty was having fun from the beginning! How to Prepare for a Photo Session - Topeka's Best Family Portrait Photographers

Select outfits that will make for a timeless portrait. Choose practical clothing items, and keep the location and time of year in mind.  Select clothing items and accessories that are not too distracting or that you will have to adjust often during the session (think long necklaces or ruffled tops on a windy day).  Keep in mind the weather, wind speed, and humidity/chance of rain.  If you have littles, bring them some snacks to help give them incentives during the session.  This can help us to get kids to cooperate and make or break a session.  If it is windy, wear your hair up.  Trimming your bangs/hair slightly to keep them out of your eyes is a great idea, too! Use product like mousse, gel, pomade, and hairspray to tame your mane!    Pick shoes that will be easy to walk in at the location of the session.  For example, high heels are not recommended for sunflower shoots, but would look great in an urban/downtown ...

Interview with Haley Custenborder - Topeka High Class of 2025 - Topeka's Best Senior Portraits

Last week, I had the chance to photograph Haley, and it was such a fun experience! Haley is super cute and has a great personality that made the session so easy and enjoyable. We started at the Topeka Zoo, where she had a really special moment with the giraffes. Haley is passionate about giraffes, and she even got to feed them, which made for some amazing and unique photos. You could tell how much she loves them, and it was awesome to capture that connection on camera. After the zoo, we headed to the golf course for some more photos. Golf is another big part of Haley's life, and it’s something she’s been doing for a long time. She’s really good at it too! The photos at the course were so cool because they showed a different side of her personality. It was a perfect way to wrap up the session, blending her love for animals and her passion for sports. Photographing the Rees and Collier families is always a joy, and their recent generational session was no exception. We gathered at mom and dad’s family farm, where the kids grew up—a stunning countryside backdrop complete with a red barn and grazing horses. It was the perfect setting to celebrate their family’s love and history. The session was filled with smiles and laughter, with the kids stealing the show with their adorable grins. Madison was such a blast to photograph! She’s super fun and full of energy, and her smile made every picture look amazing. We started her session downtown, then went to Ward-Meade Park, and ended near the Governor's Mansion at sunset. The golden hour lighting was so pretty, and it made her photos look magical. This holiday season, I had the pleasure of photographing the Hight and Fenoglio family in our studio. With the whole family together for Christmas, it was the perfect opportunity to create beautiful portraits that will be treasured for years to come. Interview with Zach Oswald - Lebo High Class of 2025 - Topeka's Best Senior Portraits

I had the pleasure of photographing Zach, a senior from Lebo, Kansas, Class of 2025. We split his session into two parts to capture everything that makes him unique. The first session was all about his sports and some fun shots downtown. For the second, we headed to a gorgeous country property just outside of Lebo, and it couldn’t have been a better setting. The fall colors during the second session were absolutely stunning, making every photo feel warm and vibrant. Laya's newborn session - Interview with Mom - Topeka's Best Newborn Photographers

Last week, I had the honor of photographing a beautiful baby girl named Laya in our studio. She was the perfect baby, so calm and peaceful throughout the session. Her mom and big brother came along, and you could just feel how much they love her. It was such a sweet moment seeing how they looked at her with so much pride and joy. We tried so many adorable newborn poses and props, and Laya absolutely rocked every single one of them. She gave us the cutest little expressions, making the photos even more special. From cozy wraps to tiny headbands, every setup just seemed to fit her perfectly. Laya was such a chill baby, which made the whole session a dream. T.H. Recently I had the honor of photographing my cousin Leslie on her and Kevin's big day! It was so good to see family and friends that I rarely get to see. Basically only when I go down to visit. Normally, I don't post more than thirty pictures or so for a wedding, but I thought it would be nice to show more of the full story.
