Alan Ayala - Class of 2021 - Topeka High - Topeka's Senior Portraits

We met Alan downtown for his senior session and immediately noticed how much

he looks like his mom, they have long curly hair and the same facial expressions

and smile. He was a pretty serious senior, but after a few fart jokes he laughed and

smirked the rest of the time. We really loved how simple yet stoic his look was and

how great his session turned out. His siblings joined him for the end and it was

awesome to see how much they all resemble each other. Thanks for checking out

Now this was a special session! It's not often we photograph multiples for newborn sessions but these little girls were just perfect and despite them being born several months ago, because they were so premature they photographed just like brand new newborns! Recently, we photographed Sarah, my assistant (of many years) she’s incredible! Always professional, friendly and fun to be around. I asked her to do a write up for her blog post. Here’s what she wrote: My first experience with T.H. Peterson Photography was 8 years ago. I saw an add for his spring mini sessions and thought it would be a perfect fit for my husband (who hates photos) and my four small kids. That photo shoot resulted in amazing pictures and also a job for me! I’m Sarah, one of Tommy’s photo assistants and this spring my extended family met Tommy at Osage lake for our family photo shoot. How to Prepare for a Photo Session - Topeka's Best Family Portrait Photographers

Select outfits that will make for a timeless portrait. Choose practical clothing items, and keep the location and time of year in mind.  Select clothing items and accessories that are not too distracting or that you will have to adjust often during the session (think long necklaces or ruffled tops on a windy day).  Keep in mind the weather, wind speed, and humidity/chance of rain.  If you have littles, bring them some snacks to help give them incentives during the session.  This can help us to get kids to cooperate and make or break a session.  If it is windy, wear your hair up.  Trimming your bangs/hair slightly to keep them out of your eyes is a great idea, too! Use product like mousse, gel, pomade, and hairspray to tame your mane!    Pick shoes that will be easy to walk in at the location of the session.  For example, high heels are not recommended for sunflower shoots, but would look great in an urban/downtown setting.  Bring an extra jacket or cardigan to th

Tracer's newborn session - Interview with Mom - Topeka's Best Newborn Photographers

Tracer was such a sweet baby! I remember almost immediately when we started the session, he was comfortable and ready to be posed. Usually it takes a min to get them settled but he was a very good baby. I mean just look at that smile. He smiled almost right at the beginning and he was just a blast to photograph! Mr Walter is such a precious little baby! We had a great time posing him and working with him. He has such a sweet face. It was really special creating these images for mom and dad and also being able to incorporate them into the session. We were both so excited but also worried/hesitant to be overly excited since our first pregnancy had ended in a missed miscarriage at 12 weeks.  T.H. P.: What was your pregnancy like? Any food aversions or cravings? Megan: Overall it was a pretty easy pregnancy. My first trimester I had no appetite and suffered from morning sickness if I did eat. Sawyer is a CUTE kid! He was so chill and photographing him was a blast. I love the portraits we got of him and the images with mom and dad are super special! Interview with Deacon Crumpton - SFT Class of 2024 - Topeka's Best Senior Portraits

Deacon was fun to hang out with. He is very photogenic and capturing his personality and energy was a blast. We had such a great evening to get these images of him. And even though we took these pretty much in the dead of winter, you'd really never know. The temps were great and the trees looked incredible in the glow of the setting sun.
