Wrenley's Newborn Session - Interview with Mom - Topeka's Newborn Photographers


Baby Wrenley! What a precious little human! She was so fun to photograph. She seemed hungry the whole time so she was a little on the fussy side but overall she did great! She looks adorable in her photos and I love the beautiful images we captured of her! Mom is clearly crazy about her and it was fun to be able to get portraits of them together. She has the cutest little face and she looked like a doll in most of her photos. These are a handful of our favorites. Thanks for checking out our session with Wrenley!

T.H. P.: How did you come up with your baby's name?

Katie: I found her name online and I liked that it isn’t a super common name.

T.H. P.: How has life been adjusting to a new baby at home?

Katie: It’s definitely been an adjustment, especially at night. But she’s a pretty chill baby and doesn’t cry a whole lot.

T.H. P.: What was your first thought when you saw her?

Katie: I couldnt believe that she was actually inside me and that she’s mine.

T.H. P.: What is something you liked about your session with us?Katie: I liked how friendly everyone was and how you were able to work with her still when she didn’t want to cooperate.

Baby Oakley was an absolute dream to photograph! This precious little girl, who looks just like her mama, was so calm and posed perfectly for us. Because she was so cooperative, we got to try new poses, props, and backdrops, making the session extra special. Her mama is completely smitten with her, and it’s easy to see why—she’s just the sweetest, most perfect little baby! T.H. Peterson: What did you think when you first saw Oakley? I had so much fun photographing Brody and Kiera, a pair of high school siblings who came to the studio for a just-for-fun session! Their bond was easy to see, laughing and teasing. They brought such a natural vibe to every shot. I love sessions like this that capture the joy of family without needing a special occasion. We also brought their hobbies into the session to show off their personalities. Kiera, a talented ballet dancer, posed with grace, while Brody, a baseball player, brought his sporty style. Meet Knox – the sweetest little guy! During his newborn session, he was such a joy to photograph. We used several adorable props and backdrops, and Knox gave us a little smile... basically we gushed over him! His expressions were so precious, showing off his personality even at such a young age. Knox’s mom and dad are absolutely crazy about him, and it’s easy to see why! They were glowing with love during the session, and it was so special to capture these moments for their family. How to Prepare for a Photo Session - Topeka's Best Family Portrait Photographers

Select outfits that will make for a timeless portrait. Choose practical clothing items, and keep the location and time of year in mind.  Select clothing items and accessories that are not too distracting or that you will have to adjust often during the session (think long necklaces or ruffled tops on a windy day).  Keep in mind the weather, wind speed, and humidity/chance of rain.  If you have littles, bring them some snacks to help give them incentives during the session.  This can help us to get kids to cooperate and make or break a session.  If it is windy, wear your hair up.  Trimming your bangs/hair slightly to keep them out of your eyes is a great idea, too! Use product like mousse, gel, pomade, and hairspray to tame your mane!    Pick shoes that will be easy to walk in at the location of the session.  For example, high heels are not recommended for sunflower shoots, but would look great in an urban/downtown ...

Lauren and Cole’s session at KU was so special—not just because it’s where they graduated, but because their connection made every shot effortless. Our session with Lainey was perfect. She was such a beautiful little model. We took her session with her family and her big brothers were adorable and a lot of fun. Clearly mom and dad are crazy about her. We were able to get lots of beautiful images! Here are just a few of our favorites! T.H. Peterson: What did you think when you first saw Lainey? Laura: When I first saw Lainey I asked if she was still a girl (LOL) I have two boys and she is the first girl in the Worcester family in almost 19 years. Azaria’s senior session was one to remember! We braved the freezing cold, with snow covering the ground, to capture her love for softball. The golden hour sunset added a warm glow, making the field look magical. She brought along softball shirts from childhood and past teams, a special touch that told the story of her journey. Despite the cold, Azaria did amazing, smiling through every shot and showcasing her passion for the game. Her confidence and determination shone through, creating beautiful and meaningful photos. Erika and Brad are the sweetest family, and I loved photographing their newborn session. Their new baby, Luciana, has so much hair that I joked it looked like a wig! Her big sister, Addy, wasn’t too interested in the session, but we still managed to capture some really sweet moments of them together. Even though this was a quick session, we got some beautiful images of their little family. Newborn sessions are always special, but there’s something extra sweet about capturing those early days with a new baby. Luciana was so peaceful, and her tiny features were just perfect. Welcoming baby Ruby into the studio was such a joy! She was the sweetest little model, so peaceful and content throughout her session. Her tiny features and soft expressions made every photo feel extra special. The connection between Ruby and her mom was beautiful to see.
