Rigg's Newborn session - Interview with Mom - Topeka's Best Newborn Photographers

Meet Riggs — a beautiful newborn we had the joy of photographing in our studio. He was so calm and relaxed the whole time, a truly chill baby and a dream to work with!

Riggs gave us a few sweet little smiles, and we were lucky to catch them on camera. He’s already a great model!

Mom and Dad were full of love and so happy to be with their baby boy. It was heartwarming to see how much they adore him.

We loved having this sweet family in the studio. Riggs, you are so loved already. Welcome to the world!

T.H. Peterson: What did you think when you first saw Riggs?

Brilee: Our oldest was born at 32 weeks and Riggs was born at 36 weeks, so the first thought I had was, “He’s SO big!.” Riggs was born at 5lbs 13oz so he was definitely not considered big, but to me, he was huge!

T.H. P.: How did you come up with his name?

Brilee: My husband and I tossed around several names and finally decided on Riggs. I really wanted to name him after my late grandfather in some way. His middle name was Leonard, which was not our favorite but Leo was too cute to pass up!

T.H. P.: What is something you liked about your shoot with us?

Brilee: We have used Tommy for the past 6 years and always enjoy how laid back he is. He goes with the flow when it comes to stubborn toddlers and unpredictable babies. He has several tricks up his sleeve to get the smiles that he needs and can change up with ease. 

T.H. P.: Did you have any food cravings or aversions during pregnancy?

Brilee: Unfortunately, I had iron deficiency anemia so one of my biggest cravings was ice! Especially crushed ice. We still have a big bag of sonic ice in our deep freeze!

Meet Warren, the sweetest little guy with the most relaxed personality. At almost a month old, he was happy, content, and an absolute dream to photograph. We captured some beautiful moments of him, both on his own and with his adoring parents, who couldn’t stop gushing over their precious boy. Ava was absolutely beautiful for her senior portrait session! We had an amazing time capturing her both in the studio and outdoors, and every shot turned out stunning. One of the highlights of her session was getting to include her adorable big dog, Goose. He was such a sweetheart, and the photos of them together were just perfect! When we headed outside, it was freezing ! But Ava came prepared with her cowhide blanket, and let me tell you—it looked incredible. I even told her she looked like she just stepped out of a catalog! I had the pleasure of photographing a beautiful senior named Jahara from Topeka High. We started her session in downtown Topeka and then headed to Ward Meade Park, which gave us the perfect mix of urban and natural backgrounds. Jahara looked stunning with her amazing makeup and radiant smile—she truly didn’t take a single bad photo! We had so much fun with her, laughing and chatting the whole time. Krista's Maternity Session - Beautiful Milestone session - Topeka's Best Newborn and Maternity Photographers

This milestone session with Krista was such a joy to photograph. From the moment she walked in, her smile lit up the room— beautiful and full of warmth. We began the session in our studio. Krista looked radiant, glowing with happiness and love. Her joy was contagious, and it really came through in the photos. Then we headed to the lake just a short drive from the studio. The weather couldn’t have been more perfect. The sun was setting, casting a golden glow over everything. The colors were vibrant, the water was calm, and it felt like the whole scene was made just for them. Krista did some photos alone, cradling her baby bump with so much love. Then she was joined by her hubby, and you could see the deep connection and excitement they share. It was beautiful to witness and capture. How to Prepare for a Photo Session - Topeka's Best Family Portrait Photographers

Select outfits that will make for a timeless portrait. Choose practical clothing items, and keep the location and time of year in mind.  Select clothing items and accessories that are not too distracting or that you will have to adjust often during the session (think long necklaces or ruffled tops on a windy day).  Keep in mind the weather, wind speed, and humidity/chance of rain.  If you have littles, bring them some snacks to help give them incentives during the session.  This can help us to get kids to cooperate and make or break a session.  If it is windy, wear your hair up.  Trimming your bangs/hair slightly to keep them out of your eyes is a great idea, too! Use product like mousse, gel, pomade, and hairspray to tame your mane!    Pick shoes that will be easy to walk in at the location of the session.  For example, high heels are not recommended for sunflower shoots, but would look great in an urban/downtown ...

Erin and Jay-Michael's wedding day was something spectacular! So many amazing moments and memories I'll have from that day and we're so thankful and happy that we got to be a part of it! First of all, they are such a sweet couple... a sweet family. Their children are BEAUTIFUL and so photogenic! We've been blessed to be able to photograph them on multiple occasions and it's always a blast. Secondly, the location was Creekside at Berryton and that is an awesome venue for a wedding! It's outdoors and rustic and very beautiful. It's always fun and helpful when our weddings are at such beautiful places! Malone Family - Front Porch Sessions - Topeka's Family Photographers

  We had the privilege of meeting the Malone family at their house to do some front porch pictures . We were greeted by Katie, Caleb, Maddox, and Reese.  They are such a great family!  This was a special session for them since they are building a new house, and will soon move from their current home.  They wanted to get some pictures so they could remember their first home together, and we were so happy they chose us to photograph them!  We loved the front porch pictures with their dog, Rocky!  And we really loved the street pictures!  Katie told us how our next session that day was her sister, so we had an idea to take pictures of each family and photoshop them together!  We all cracked up at the end of each session as the Hooper family posed!  What a cool idea!  We hope you get a kick out of this unique session!
