Interview with Maddie Short - Topeka West Class of 2026 - Topeka's Best Senior Portraits

We had such a great time photographing Maddie for her senior session! She’s a senior at Topeka West, super friendly, and so easy to photograph. We started downtown and got some really beautiful shots there. Even in the middle of the city, the sunlight came through just right and made her hair glow. She looked absolutely stunning in those sunlit photos!

After downtown, we headed to a few spots near the Governor’s Mansion where the light was just perfect. The sun shining through the leaves and tall grass gave everything this warm, golden feel that looked amazing. Maddie was a total natural in front of the camera and made the whole session fun. Time really flew by! I think her photos capture her personality so well—bright, warm, and full of life.

T.H. Peterson: What classes are you enjoying this year?
Maddie: Government

T.H. P: What is your dream job?
Maddie: Hairstylist
T.H. P: Plans after graduation?
Maddie: Cosmetology school

T.H. P: What is something you liked about your session with us?
Maddie: Outfit changes & locations

T.H. P: What makes you feel confident?
Maddie: My hair being curled and styled.
Mom: This one gave her some trouble, but my take on it is that she’s always been a fairly confident person. I admire that she’s someone who’s always been comfortable in her own skin and true to herself—never pretending to be someone she’s not.
T.H. P: How would friends describe you?
Maddie: Sarcastic, sassy, loyal, smart
T.H. P: Something people would be surprised to learn about you?
Maddie: I like watching baking shows and documentaries
T.H. P: Favorite YouTube channel?
Maddie: The Kevin Langue Show
T.H. P: Last movie you saw, what did you think?
Maddie: Beauty & The Beast Live Action — I feel it was one of the best live action movies Disney has done because the movie and outfits were appropriate to the animation, and I just felt like it was a beautiful movie.
T.H. P: Favorite thing mom cooks?
Maddie: Her tacos
