Zoey Jean and Katy Jo's Newborn Session - Interview with Mom - Topeka's Best Newborn Photographers

Our recent newborn session with Katy Jo and Zoey was truly a joy from start to finish. These sweet little babies were absolute angels, and even though it was a bit of a challenge at times, we were able to capture some truly beautiful moments. It was also a wonderful opportunity for our new assistants to get hands-on experience, and they did an amazing job helping during the session. Mom was completely smitten with her girls, and you could see the pure love and joy in her eyes as she watched them throughout the session. Having her mom there to lend a hand made the experience even smoother and more special.

Beyond just capturing photos, this session was a meaningful experience for our team. We loved being able to create lasting memories for this family and were honored to be a part of such a tender time in their lives. Every coo, little yawn, and tiny stretch was a reminder of how precious these moments are, and it made our work feel even more rewarding. Sessions like this one are what make our job so fulfilling—helping families preserve the beauty and innocence of their newest additions, while also giving our team the chance to grow and learn together.

T.H. P.: What is life like with twins?
Jenny: Busy! We are beyond blessed but would love to grow some extra arms. We have learned it takes a village—and we have a great one!

T.H. P.: How did you come up with their names?
Jenny: Zoey Jean has her middle name after her great grandpa Gene. I always loved the name Zoey, so it was our first pick for a girl. Joe (dad) came up with Katy Jo’s name—Katy came from Joe’s grandma Kathy, and Joseph is a family name, so we shortened it for her middle name.

T.H. P.: Something you liked about your session with us?
Jenny: I loved the interaction between assistants and photographers! Very encouraging, upbeat, and supportive. It was a very calm and laid-back environment, and I didn’t have any concerns handing the girls over!
T.H. P.: What did you think when you first saw them?
Jenny: Wow—we made these girls! I cried—it’s so surreal suddenly having them outside of you.
T.H. P.: Describe each of their personalities.
Jenny: Their personalities are still developing, but Katy Jo overall seems more alert and laid back. We call Zoey our little singer, as she is always making sweet noises in her sleep and while eating!
