Kendall's Newborn Session - Interview with Mom - Topeka's Best Newborn Photographers

Kendall was an absolute dream during her newborn session! My assistant and I were completely blown away by how chill she was. She was so smiley and nothing seemed to bother her. She basically let us do whatever we wanted, and she posed so well for us. She even gave us some of the tiniest little hand poses that had us cracking up. She was just such a good baby, and we couldn't get enough of her!

Kendall has three older brothers, and we have had the pleasure of photographing these little guys many times over the years. They are still so young, but they are already completely in love with their baby sister. They were so sweet with her and very interested in everything she was doing. It was so much fun getting pictures of all of them together, the whole family, and some special photos of just the brothers with Kendall. They are going to be some excellent big brothers! It was truly an honor to photograph this family again, and I absolutely love the images we captured. The connection between everyone came through beautifully, and this was such a special session.

T.H. Peterson: What did you think when you first saw Kendall?
Shannon: When I first saw Kendall, I couldn’t believe how much hair she had and how much she resembles parts of her three brothers. I thought immediately she was so beautiful and couldn’t believe she was ours.

T.H. P.: How did you come up with her name?
Shannon: We knew we wanted the first name Kendall because it was the first girl name we wanted if our twins were a boy and a girl. When we had our three boys, we knew if our fourth was a girl, Kendall was the name. Her middle name Marie is after my grandmother who sadly passed away before she could meet her, so it’s pretty special to me.
T.H. P.: What do big bros think?
Shannon: Her big brothers are so fascinated by her. They are constantly looking at her and asking if they can “pet” her. They do their best to be helpful and are always telling everyone they see that they have a little sister.
T.H. P.: She was so chill in her session. Is that her personality all the time??
Shannon: She is the chillest baby out of the four. As long as she is either being held or swaddled, she is quiet like a mouse.
T.H. P.: Did you have any food cravings or aversions during pregnancy?
Shannon: I constantly craved anything sweet, which was a struggle with gestational diabetes. But, I would sometimes sneak my main cravings, which was ice cream or Reese’s Cups.
