I am so happy to finally share our session with Hunter here with you all.   This is a very special session for me. This is Hunter Akers. She graduated this year and last year we did her senior portraits. Very beautiful, fun and full of life. In fact, I realized that Hunter looks just like my wife Holly when Holly was her age. The resemblance is uncanny.   Recently, Hunter was diagnosed with Hodgkin Lymphoma. Of course, this is terrifying for anyon e. I was disturbed when I heard the news... it really seemed unreal to me. Well fast forward to this session, they asked us to photograph her before the chemo caused her to lose her hair. I was more than happy to do the session or her. I even recruited my friend, neighbor and local business owner Karly Morris, owner of  Bombshells Salon  here in Scranton to help with her hair and makeup.  Sierra's session was killer! We shot her session basically in the middle of the day and that actually made for such a great session!! It was WINDY as well but we actually made that work in our favor. We had a lot of fun with Sierra and her mom! They were super fun to hang out with. We did her session in downtown Topeka within a few blocks radius and there was so many places to shoot that it gave us a ton of different looks. One of my favorite locations however was when we went to the Jayhawk Theater. There's some amazing shots in there! So here's a few highlights from the session that I really love!! Kyle is an easy going guy. He was smiley which I appreciated and we had a great time together. Kyle was a great subject and was down for anything. We had an awesome shoot downtown, governor's mansion and then finally at the tennis courts on Gage. It was a very relaxed laid back session, the kind of sessions I especially love!  These are the weddings I dream about... the weddings I wish I shot. Shayla and Matt's wedding was beyond amazing. I envision the perfect weddings and this was what I see.. A beautiful, photogenic, cinematic, picturesque ceremony on a countryside, in the summer, with the most amazing couple... this was it. It was hot. It was humid, but that had no effect whatsoever on the awesomeness of the day. These two love each other so much and their day couldn't have been more perfect. All the details and thoughts that were put into their day blow my mind. From the backdrop they made for the ceremony to the doves they released during the ceremony to the field with wild flowers, it could not have been more perfect. Their reception was amazing as well.  So many beautiful details! And last but not least what truly makes a wedding exceptional are the people.  No question, this is a must see session. I met Kendall last year during a family session at Kansas Museum  in the fall (which was so beautiful I must say!) But now it was her turn! A session just for her and she ROCKED it!! Kendall had great outfits, and her locations were super cool. We shot them primarily downtown Topeka and a few around town, in a beautiful patch of wild flowers and ended up just after sunset at Shawnee Lake. The sky was a saturated purplish pink. It was super awesome! I love Kendall's smile. Her smile and eyes light up her photos! She's beautiful, no doubt about it. Her shoot I think not only show that off but easily show off personality.
