 Last week we had a great time with Rachael!! It was an incredible session. It was a little warm out but she was a champ! She had great expressions and her ideas for her session were incredible! I've known Rachael for a while and so when we had the chance to photograph her I was really excited! She is beautiful and these photos really show off her beauty!! Jack’s senior session took place at the golf course at Lake Wabaunsee, and it couldn’t have been a more perfect day. A Perfect Day for Cole & Lauren at Arterra Event Gallery - Lawrence, KS Wedding

Cole and Lauren’s wedding at Arterra Event Gallery in Lawrence, KS was absolutely perfect. It was a beautiful day filled with love, laughter, and so much personality. Surrounded by a small group of close friends and family, the atmosphere was intimate and joyful. The bridal party brought a ton of fun and creativity—so quirky and full of life! Cole and Lauren chose to wait to see each other until the ceremony, and when Lauren walked down the aisle, the emotions were overwhelming. There were tears, smiles, and so much love in the air. It was short, sweet, and truly moving. After the ceremony, guests enjoyed mouthwatering hors d'oeuvres and an incredible meal catered by Macelli’s—every bite was as beautiful as it was delicious. Interview with AJ Gallegos - Shawnee Heights Class of 2026 - Topeka's Best Senior Portraits

We had an awesome time photographing AJ for his senior photos! AJ is a wide receiver for Shawnee Heights and such a great guy — super friendly with a smile that made our job easy. He brought along his best friend Aiden, the quarterback, and the two of them made the whole session a blast. You could tell they’ve been through a lot together on and off the field. Time flew by and before we knew it, we were done! We started at the Kansas Museum, then headed to Shawnee Lake, and finished up at the Shawnee Heights football field. Interview with Aiden Scott - Shawnee Heights Class of 2026 - Topeka's Best Senior Portraits

I had a great time photographing Aiden, a senior at Shawnee Heights and the quarterback for the football team. We started the session at the Kansas Museum, then made our way to Shawnee Lake, and finished up at the football field. Each location gave us something different, and we captured so many awesome images of Aiden along the way. Aiden is tall, handsome, and has a great smile. He’s easygoing and has a really fun, laid-back personality. It made the whole session relaxed and enjoyable. His love for football really came through, especially in the shots at the field. We were also able to get some fun photos with his friend and teammate AJ (though those aren’t included here). They had a great time together and were a blast to photograph. The weather was perfect, and Aiden’s family came along for the session—it really felt like a celebration. I’m so happy with how the images turned out. I had such a great time photographing Taylor, a senior from Silver Lake High School. She plays softball and had an incredible season, even making it to state where her team took 2nd place! Taylor is full of personality—funny, outgoing, and just a joy to be around. Her family came along for the session, and you could feel how close and supportive they are. It made the whole experience even better. We started the session at Echo Cliff, which was absolutely beautiful. Then we made our way to downtown Dover for some fun shots, and we ended the evening at the Silver Lake ball fields to capture her love for the game. I had the pleasure of photographing Catayah for her senior pictures at Marais des Cygnes Valley High School. We started in the school’s locker room to highlight her involvement in sports. She looked lovely with a beautiful smile and a quiet confidence that came through in every photo. After that, we headed to Melvern Lake, which was absolutely stunning that day—bright sunshine, vivid green all around, and calm water that made for a perfect backdrop. I’ve known Ciara since she was just three years old and have had the joy of photographing her over the years. Watching her grow into the beautiful, confident, and smiley young lady she is today has been amazing. She’s now a proud member of the Class of 2026 at Seaman High School, where she cheers with so much spirit and energy. Her personality is truly perfect for photos—so full of life and joy. For her session, we spent time downtown and then headed to Seaman High for some shots that showed off her school pride. As we wrapped things up, the skies turned dark and dramatic, and we could tell a storm was on the way. Later that night it poured, but the risk was worth it. Meet sweet baby Brooks! He was an absolute dream to photograph—so calm and content the entire session. He even gave us the tiniest little smile at one point, and it was the sweetest thing ever. From the moment he arrived, he was just so chill, letting us gently pose him without a fuss. His mama is completely in love (and who could blame her?). We captured so many adorable setups, and Brooks looked handsome in every single one. He truly made my job easy, and it was such a joy to spend time with this perfect little guy. T. H. How to Prepare for a Photo Session - Topeka's Best Family Portrait Photographers

Select outfits that will make for a timeless portrait. Choose practical clothing items, and keep the location and time of year in mind.  Select clothing items and accessories that are not too distracting or that you will have to adjust often during the session (think long necklaces or ruffled tops on a windy day).  Keep in mind the weather, wind speed, and humidity/chance of rain.  If you have littles, bring them some snacks to help give them incentives during the session.  This can help us to get kids to cooperate and make or break a session.  If it is windy, wear your hair up.  Trimming your bangs/hair slightly to keep them out of your eyes is a great idea, too! Use product like mousse, gel, pomade, and hairspray to tame your mane!    Pick shoes that will be easy to walk in at the location of the session.  For example, high heels are not recommended for sunflower shoots, but would look great in an urban/downtown ...

I had a great time photographing Paxton, a senior at Silver Lake High School. We took most of his photos on the football field and in the weight room—two places that really show who he is. Paxton is not only a football player but also a dedicated powerlifter. He throws up some seriously impressive numbers, and it was awesome to capture that strength and focus on camera. Paxton brought his mom and girlfriend along for the session, and we got some great images with both of them. You can tell he’s got a strong support system, and that always makes a difference.
