Tulip Time with the Miller Family! Ted Ensley Gardens at Shawnee Lake - Topeka's Best Family Photographers

 Super excited to share our session with the Miller family. It was a beautiful spring morning and the tulips looks so beautiful at Shawnee Lake. It was a gorgeous backdrop for their shoot. The really fun and interesting thing about these guys is they have a 14 month old and a 9 year old and our family does too! In fact both their son and our son have birthdays the same month! So it was interesting to see the interaction they have and see the similarities with our kids. We've photographed them before and it's always been fun. They are such a fun and happy family. Now this was a special session! It's not often we photograph multiples for newborn sessions but these little girls were just perfect and despite them being born several months ago, because they were so premature they photographed just like brand new newborns! We had the most absolutely perfect day for the Popkess family's spring session at Ward Meade. Sadly the tulips are all gone however the lush greenery made a perfect backdrop anywhere we posed this adorable family! How to Prepare for a Photo Session - Topeka's Best Family Portrait Photographers

Select outfits that will make for a timeless portrait. Choose practical clothing items, and keep the location and time of year in mind.  Select clothing items and accessories that are not too distracting or that you will have to adjust often during the session (think long necklaces or ruffled tops on a windy day).  Keep in mind the weather, wind speed, and humidity/chance of rain.  If you have littles, bring them some snacks to help give them incentives during the session.  This can help us to get kids to cooperate and make or break a session.  If it is windy, wear your hair up.  Trimming your bangs/hair slightly to keep them out of your eyes is a great idea, too! Use product like mousse, gel, pomade, and hairspray to tame your mane!    Pick shoes that will be easy to walk in at the location of the session.  For example, high heels are not recommended for sunflower shoots, but would look great in an urban/downtown setting.  Bring an extra jacket or cardigan to th

Destrie: I have always loved the name Diego, and so I knew when I had a second boy he would have that name. T.H. P.: What does big bro think? Destrie: His brother is in total awe of him. Hanna, who is a long time client, has recently begun helping us with newborns and it's been a huge blessing not only to our business but to her as well as she has had an opportunity to grow as a photographer herself and practice on getting better at wrapping and posing babies. What a sweet baby! We had a wonderful time with Kayson and his mom and dad. They are so proud of him and you can tell they are going to raise him right and give him lots of love his whole life. Cove was the sweetest little girl. She was so mellow and easy to photograph. She was just the cutest baby. Sierra: Her big brothers name is Cash, so I knew I wanted another one syllable name. When I stumbled upon Cove and said the names together, it was an instant yes.
