Interview with Ean Winsor - Holton High School Class of 2027 - Topeka's Best Senior Portraits

When Ean stepped out of his vehicle, I was pretty excited because this is a BIG dude! As a football player at Holton High School, he has the kind of stature that really stands out, and he absolutely towered over us. I knew we could make some really tough-looking images of him, and we definitely did our best to capture that side of him. But it didn't take long to realize that underneath that big football-player exterior is a giant teddy bear. Ean is such a sweet, friendly, and considerate young man, and I wanted to make sure we captured that side of him too. We started his session on the football field and talked a little about football and his great team at Holton High School.

The session was pretty quick, and then we headed out into the country for some photos on a gravel road. The setting sun gave us this beautiful, warm, vibrant background that really made the images pop. Ean gave us some awesome smiles, and we were able to get tons of great images during his session. It was a really fun shoot, and I couldn't be happier with how his photos turned out.

T.H. Peterson: What are your plans after high school?
Ean: My plans after high school include playing football at the college level and eventually becoming a PTA.

T.H. P.: Favorite thing about football season?
Ean: My favorite thing about football season has to be making memories with my teammates that will last a lifetime, and of course, winning games.
T.H. P.: Favorite pro athlete?
Ean: My favorite pro athlete is Creed Humphrey.
T.H. P.: Something you liked about your session with us?
Ean: I really enjoyed the good vibes during this photoshoot.
T.H. P.: What makes you feel confident?
Ean: Knowing that I am a hard worker, try my best, and my football skills.
T.H. P.: Favorite movie?
Ean: My favorite movies are Lone Survivor or Gridiron Gang.
T.H. P.: What’s on your playlist you listen to every day?
Ean: “Take It” by Staind is definitely a daily listen for me.
T.H. P.: Favorite thing mom cooks?
Ean: My favorite meal is my mom’s homemade chicken Alfredo.
T.H. P.: Dream job?
Ean: My dream job is to be a professional football player.
T.H. P.: How would friends describe you?
Ean: My friends would describe me as hardworking, respectful, and kind.

Lorren’s senior session was such a fun one! We started the morning at the sunflower fields at Shively Farms, and we could not have asked for a better morning. The sun was coming up, the light was beautiful, and best of all, we had the entire place to ourselves. We were able to capture some absolutely gorgeous sunrise images surrounded by the sunflowers. Interview with Haven Ellenburg - Shawnee Heights High Class of 2027 - Topeka's Best Senior Portraits

Haven's senior session was one of those evenings where everything just came together. We started at Shawnee Heights High School on the softball field since that's where she's spent so much of her time. She was so easy to photograph from the beginning. She has a GREAT smile, a fun personality, and she's completely comfortable in front of the camera. Her mom came along too, and it was fun having her there cheering Haven on and getting excited every time we found another great spot. After the ball field, we made our way to the Governor's Mansion and then finished the evening at Kaw River Park. The sunset could not have been any better. The sky looked almost unreal and the water made the perfect backdrop for her portraits. We spent the evening talking about school,  plans after graduation, and just enjoying the beautiful weather. Interview with Addy Crouch - Shawnee Heights Class of 2027 - Topeka's Best Senior Portraits

We had so much fun photographing Addy for her senior portraits! We started at Shawnee Heights High School with some cheer photos, and she absolutely crushed them. She nailed every jump and pose, which was honestly impressive because we usually have to repeat a few of those shots to get just the right one. Mom mentioned that Addy also dances, and that definitely made sense once we started taking photos. She was so natural in front of the camera and had the sweetest smiles and expressions from the very beginning. After SHHS, we headed over to Iliff Commons for the rest of her session. As we spent more time together, we got to see more of Addy's personality come out. She's a funny girl, made us smile. Interview with Jared Heuertz - Oskaloosa High Class of 2027 - Topeka's Best Senior Portraits

Jared was such a fun senior to photograph! We actually photographed him during a couple of different sessions, and each one gave us something completely different. We started early one morning at Crooked Post Winery where he works. There we were treated to a beautiful sunrise and some awesome weather. The vineyard made the perfect backdrop for his session, and from there we headed to the lake and then to his house, finding awesome locations and opportunities for photos everywhere we went. We finished up with some pictures with his dogs; the perfect way to end the morning! For his second session, we headed to his high school to capture some of the things that are a huge part of Jared's life: football and baseball. Jared puts a ton of time and energy into his athletics, so getting those photos around his school and on the field was really important. I had the chance to photograph Ayden, a Washburn Rural senior, and even though this was a shorter session than usual, we captured some truly amazing images. We started at Washburn Rural, where we highlighted his passion for football. Ayden was relaxed, easygoing, and brought a great smile to every shot. Right from the beginning, it felt like everything came together naturally. After that, we headed downtown to one of my favorite grungy spots, and Ayden was up for anything. Interview with Isaiah Withers - Seaman High Class of 2027 - Topeka's Best Senior Portraits

When I first met Isaiah, it was obvious he takes his training seriously. He's a senior at Seaman High School and spends a lot of time powerlifting at Joe's Gym, a small backyard garage gym where everyone feels like family. Even though senior pictures probably weren't at the top of his list of favorite things to do, he was up for anything we suggested and made the whole session easy. He's a genuinely nice, down-to-earth guy, and it didn't take long before we were laughing and having a good time. One of my favorite parts was watching him actually lift during the session instead of just pretending. I joked that he got a workout in while getting his senior photos. Zariah from Highland Park High School was awesome to photograph! She came with some really great ideas, and we had a lot of fun getting creative with her session. We started at the studio in the mall, where we were able to capture some really unique images that showed off her personality and style. Kendall's Newborn Session - Interview with Mom - Topeka's Best Newborn Photographers

Kendall was an absolute dream during her newborn session! My assistant and I were completely blown away by how chill she was. She was so smiley and nothing seemed to bother her. She basically let us do whatever we wanted, and she posed so well for us. She even gave us some of the tiniest little hand poses that had us cracking up. She was just such a good baby, and we couldn't get enough of her! Kendall has three older brothers, and we have had the pleasure of photographing these little guys many times over the years. They are still so young, but they are already completely in love with their baby sister. They were so sweet with her and very interested in everything she was doing. Interview with Dawson Wittman - Hayden High Class of 2027 - Topeka's Best Senior Portraits

Dawson's session was one for the books! He is super nice, very friendly, and has a great smile and personality. We started his senior session in NOTO, where we found lots of colorful backdrops and fun spots throughout. From there, we headed over to Ward Meade Park and were able to create so many cool images. The warm glow of the sun made an amazing backdrop and really added something special to his photos. We finished the evening at Shawnee Lake, where we captured some beautiful images on the water with the setting sun behind him. The sun was huge, warm, and absolutely breathtaking!
