Fannin Wedding - Todd and Jessica's Breathtaking Celebration - Victorian Veranda Inn


There really aren't sufficient words to describe Todd and Jessica's day. I remember when I met them they were so nice and laid back and just the most loving couple. I knew their wedding would be special. They have literally been together for 15 years. They were ready to get married. I knew that their love was strong and that's what weddings are all about. That's what I love capturing at weddings so much! 
So we showed up to Victorian Veranda Country Inn north of Lawrence out in the country. I've been there before but it's changed quite a bit. It is such a beautiful location for a wedding. I highly recommend it. They boys were in a jolly mood. The girls were excited and so happy. And Jessica was glowing. She was absolutely radiant. I was taken back when I saw her. She was so beautiful.

The day went off without a hitch. It was absolutely perfect. The day that Jessica and Todd dreamed of for so long. I sincerely feel so honored to have been part of such a beautiful and special day. I can't help but feel so happy and even emotional looking at these photos, this family, these moments and know they have such a strong foundation to their relationship. Thank you Todd and Jessica for allowing us to be there. I truly wish the best for you guys. Make sure you watch the video below. You will love it, trust me.

I had the pleasure of photographing a beautiful senior named Jahara from Topeka High. We started her session in downtown Topeka and then headed to Ward Meade Park, which gave us the perfect mix of urban and natural backgrounds. Jahara looked stunning with her amazing makeup and radiant smile—she truly didn’t take a single bad photo! We had so much fun with her, laughing and chatting the whole time. Ava was absolutely beautiful for her senior portrait session! We had an amazing time capturing her both in the studio and outdoors, and every shot turned out stunning. One of the highlights of her session was getting to include her adorable big dog, Goose. He was such a sweetheart, and the photos of them together were just perfect! I recently photographed a branding session with Andy McKee , an incredibly talented guitar player. I hate to just call him just a guitar player, he was very versatile with his playing... an amazing talent. We chose Iliff Commons for the location, and it couldn’t have been more perfect. The lighting, the weather—everything came together beautifully. It created a warm and natural backdrop that matched the mood we wanted for his photos. How to Prepare for a Photo Session - Topeka's Best Family Portrait Photographers

Select outfits that will make for a timeless portrait. Choose practical clothing items, and keep the location and time of year in mind.  Select clothing items and accessories that are not too distracting or that you will have to adjust often during the session (think long necklaces or ruffled tops on a windy day).  Keep in mind the weather, wind speed, and humidity/chance of rain.  If you have littles, bring them some snacks to help give them incentives during the session.  This can help us to get kids to cooperate and make or break a session.  If it is windy, wear your hair up.  Trimming your bangs/hair slightly to keep them out of your eyes is a great idea, too! Use product like mousse, gel, pomade, and hairspray to tame your mane!    Pick shoes that will be easy to walk in at the location of the session.  For example, high heels are not recommended for sunflower shoots, but would look great in an urban/downtown ...

Meet sweet baby Amelia! She was an absolute dream during her newborn session—so smiley and full of sweetness. She slept soundly, letting us gently pose her, and was the perfect little model. Zendaya was an absolute dream to photograph! She was calm, sweet, and full of the most precious expressions. From tiny smiles to curious looks, she gave us so many beautiful moments to capture.
