Interview with Felicity - Council Grove High School Class of 2023

Felicity was a lot of fun to hang out with! She was definitely shy at first, which I can relate to but I feel that she warmed up and we ended up having a great time together! We did some in our studio and then we headed outside of town to one of our favorite locations, Eleanor’s Events for a beautiful country setting. These were when the sunflowers were in bloom so we got some out at the sunflower fields as well. It was the perfect location for her session. A real Kansas country setting. Not only were the sunflowers beautiful but the sunset was dynamite! Felicity happiness came shining through, especially towards the end of the shoot. One thing I really liked about her shoot was that mom was there and they had a great connection. It was definitely a lot of fun! Here’s highlights from the shoot! Enjoy!

T.H. Peterson: What classes are you enjoying most this year? Which do you like least?

Felicity: Web page design is what I'm enjoying most right now and my least favorite is economical.

T.H. P.: What are your plans after high school?
Felicity: I plan to go to college for an education Major.
T.H. P.: What would be your dream job?
Felicity:  A traveling photographer for Nat Geo Wild.
T.H. P.: What is your favorite outdoor activity? Felicity: Going for runs.
T.H. P.: What did you like most about your session with us? Felicity: They tried to make me laugh and comfortable when I was nervous/shy.
T.H. P.: Who are your favorite male and female singers? Felicity: Harry styles and Billie Eilish.
T.H. P.: Favorite youtube channel? Felicity:  Kara and Nate.
T.H. P.: If you had to eat one food for a whole week, what would you pick? Felicity: Pizza.

Now this was a special session! It's not often we photograph multiples for newborn sessions but these little girls were just perfect and despite them being born several months ago, because they were so premature they photographed just like brand new newborns! Recently, we photographed Sarah, my assistant (of many years) she’s incredible! Always professional, friendly and fun to be around. I asked her to do a write up for her blog post. Here’s what she wrote: My first experience with T.H. Peterson Photography was 8 years ago. I saw an add for his spring mini sessions and thought it would be a perfect fit for my husband (who hates photos) and my four small kids. That photo shoot resulted in amazing pictures and also a job for me! I’m Sarah, one of Tommy’s photo assistants and this spring my extended family met Tommy at Osage lake for our family photo shoot. How to Prepare for a Photo Session - Topeka's Best Family Portrait Photographers

Select outfits that will make for a timeless portrait. Choose practical clothing items, and keep the location and time of year in mind.  Select clothing items and accessories that are not too distracting or that you will have to adjust often during the session (think long necklaces or ruffled tops on a windy day).  Keep in mind the weather, wind speed, and humidity/chance of rain.  If you have littles, bring them some snacks to help give them incentives during the session.  This can help us to get kids to cooperate and make or break a session.  If it is windy, wear your hair up.  Trimming your bangs/hair slightly to keep them out of your eyes is a great idea, too! Use product like mousse, gel, pomade, and hairspray to tame your mane!    Pick shoes that will be easy to walk in at the location of the session.  For example, high heels are not recommended for sunflower shoots, but would look great in an urban/downtown setting.  Bring an extra jacket or cardigan to th

Tracer's newborn session - Interview with Mom - Topeka's Best Newborn Photographers

Tracer was such a sweet baby! I remember almost immediately when we started the session, he was comfortable and ready to be posed. Usually it takes a min to get them settled but he was a very good baby. I mean just look at that smile. He smiled almost right at the beginning and he was just a blast to photograph! Sawyer is a CUTE kid! He was so chill and photographing him was a blast. I love the portraits we got of him and the images with mom and dad are super special! Interview with Deacon Crumpton - SFT Class of 2024 - Topeka's Best Senior Portraits

Deacon was fun to hang out with. He is very photogenic and capturing his personality and energy was a blast. We had such a great evening to get these images of him. And even though we took these pretty much in the dead of winter, you'd really never know. The temps were great and the trees looked incredible in the glow of the setting sun. Hanna, who is a long time client, has recently begun helping us with newborns and it's been a huge blessing not only to our business but to her as well as she has had an opportunity to grow as a photographer herself and practice on getting better at wrapping and posing babies. She is growing by leaps and bounds and I am so thankful to have her on our team! She's someone I always appreciate having around!
