Interview with Cade Wilson - Seaman High Class of 2024 - Topeka's Best Senior Portraits

Cade was a blast to photograph. When we showed up, he was hanging out by the football field with his girlfriend. She is literally a cheerleader and his cheerleader too! She was so excited for him and that was really cool to see. We photographed some of them together and that was fun. Cade is definitely a great guy. Genuinely a humble, funny, sweet person and it was my honor to photograph him. I loved his personality and he is very photogenic as well. We took some around Seaman High and then went downtown and got some great shots there as well. He had so many images I loved but here are just some of our favorites. Hope you enjoy! T.H. Peterson: What are your plans after high school?
Cade: My plans after high school are to join the national guard and go to college.

T.H. P.: What classes are you glad to be done with?

Cade: I am so glad to be done with Chemistry and Math.



T.H. P.: What would you consider a dream job?

Cade: My dream job would be a Pharmacist without all the school.


T.H. P.: What do you like to do in the gym the most?

Cade: My favorite lift to do would definitely be squats.

T.H. P.: What are your fondest memories playing high school football?

Cade: My fondest memory is definitely kickoff team my sophomore year with my friends.

T.H. P.:  What song do you have to play when working out?

Cade: A must have song in the gym is RIP Roach by XXXTENTACION and Ski Mask The Slump God.

T.H. P.: What do you love most about Pixie?

Cade: My favorite thing about Pixie is her quirkiness.

T.H. P.: Best thing mom cooks?

Cade: My favorite dish my mom makes her famous ghetto bread and no bake cookies.

T.H. P.:  What’s your powerlifting total?

Cade: My totals are 1,250.

T.H. P.: Favorite outdoor activity?

Cade: My favorite outdoor activity is basketball with my friends.

Interview with Jahara - Topeka High Class of 2025 - Topeka's Best Senior Portraits

I had the pleasure of photographing a beautiful senior named Jahara from Topeka High. We started her session in downtown Topeka and then headed to Ward Meade Park, which gave us the perfect mix of urban and natural backgrounds. Jahara looked stunning with her amazing makeup and radiant smile—she truly didn’t take a single bad photo! We had so much fun with her, laughing and chatting the whole time. Britain’s senior session was extra special because it took place at Riverview Wedding Venue in Reading, KS —a place that means a lot to him. He has spent countless hours helping make Riverview beautiful, so it was the perfect setting to capture this milestone. We had the pleasure of photographing Noah for his senior session in Manhattan. Originally from Oregon, he now calls Kansas home and attends Manhattan High. We started downtown, capturing shots in the alleys and urban spaces before heading to the scenic outlook near the interstate. Meet Warren, the sweetest little guy with the most relaxed personality. At almost a month old, he was happy, content, and an absolute dream to photograph. We captured some beautiful moments of him, both on his own and with his adoring parents, who couldn’t stop gushing over their precious boy. Ava was absolutely beautiful for her senior portrait session! We had an amazing time capturing her both in the studio and outdoors, and every shot turned out stunning. One of the highlights of her session was getting to include her adorable big dog, Goose. He was such a sweetheart, and the photos of them together were just perfect! When we headed outside, it was freezing ! But Ava came prepared with her cowhide blanket, and let me tell you—it looked incredible. I even told her she looked like she just stepped out of a catalog! I recently photographed a branding session with Andy McKee , an incredibly talented guitar player. I hate to just call him just a guitar player, he was very versatile with his playing... an amazing talent. We chose Iliff Commons for the location, and it couldn’t have been more perfect. The lighting, the weather—everything came together beautifully. It created a warm and natural backdrop that matched the mood we wanted for his photos. Before the session, I wasn’t too familiar with Andy’s work, but after meeting him, I quickly realized just how talented and respected he is in his field. How to Prepare for a Photo Session - Topeka's Best Family Portrait Photographers

Select outfits that will make for a timeless portrait. Choose practical clothing items, and keep the location and time of year in mind.  Select clothing items and accessories that are not too distracting or that you will have to adjust often during the session (think long necklaces or ruffled tops on a windy day).  Keep in mind the weather, wind speed, and humidity/chance of rain.  If you have littles, bring them some snacks to help give them incentives during the session.  This can help us to get kids to cooperate and make or break a session.  If it is windy, wear your hair up.  Trimming your bangs/hair slightly to keep them out of your eyes is a great idea, too! Use product like mousse, gel, pomade, and hairspray to tame your mane!    Pick shoes that will be easy to walk in at the location of the session.  For example, high heels are not recommended for sunflower shoots, but would look great in an urban/downtown ...

Meet sweet baby Amelia! She was an absolute dream during her newborn session—so smiley and full of sweetness. She slept soundly, letting us gently pose her, and was the perfect little model. Her parents were completely smitten, beaming with love and joy the entire time. It was such a pleasure capturing this special moment for their growing family! T.H. Zendaya was an absolute dream to photograph! She was calm, sweet, and full of the most precious expressions. From tiny smiles to curious looks, she gave us so many beautiful moments to capture. Her family adores her, and it’s easy to see why—she is already surrounded by so much love. Whitney: We actually had planned on naming her Delilah through the whole pregnancy.
