Interview with Noah Robinson - Washburn Rural Class of 2025 - Topeka's Best Senior Portraits

We had a short amount of time with Noah and he had a lot of ideas, I was so excited! He's all country. Fishing, hunting, American Flag, dirtbikes and trucks. I was pretty much in heaven. I knew his session was going to be awesome. I also love his property, it's a great place to shoot. Noah's a little quiet but very photogenic and I could tell he had a great time! I love how these came out. Shooting on a bright and sunny day is one way to get really rich colors from the sky and landscape and I think they were the perfect backdrop for his session. These are a handful of our favorite images. Thanks for checking out Noah's shoot!

T.H. Peterson: What are you up to this summer?

Noah: Mowing lawns and hanging out with friends 

T.H. P.: What classes are you glad to be done with this year? 

Noah: English 

T.H. P.: What would your dream job be? 

Noah: Rotary wing lineman technician (to be suspended from a helicopter to fix high power lines and towers 

T.H. P.: What would people be surprised to learn about you? 

Noah: I’m not very athletic 

T.H. P.: Favorite outdoor activities? 

Noah: Hunting, fishing, and riding quads and dirt bikes

T.H. P.: Why is something you liked about your session with us?

Noah: The photographer was funny 

T.H. P.: Favorite season? 

Noah: Summer

T.H. P.: Favorite song on the radio? 

Noah: Damn near normal by Koe Wetzel

Noah: Talladaga nights or Project X

Ethan's newborn session - Interview with Mom - Topeka's Best Newborn Photographers

Ethan was such a joy to photograph during his newborn session! He is a beautiful, mellow little guy with big, sweet eyes and the most precious expressions. He made our job so easy with how chill and happy he was throughout the session. His big sister was just as adorable, and we had so much fun capturing the two of them together with some really cute sibling moments. It was truly a family affair, and we were able to get some wonderful pictures of the whole family together. Ethan was an absolute dream to work with, and we are so thankful for the opportunity to capture these memories. Interview with Hunter Kirkwood - Washburn Rural Class of 2026 - Topeka's Best Senior Portraits

It was such a great morning photographing Hunter for his senior session at the lake. When we arrived, we were surprised at how empty the park was. It made the whole session feel peaceful and relaxed, and it gave us plenty of space to capture some great photos. The morning started off cloudy and a little dreary, but by the end of the session the sun began to come out, giving us some beautiful light to finish with. The whole setting felt calm, comfortable, and just really enjoyable. One thing that stood out right away about Hunter was how easy he was to talk to. He has a great personality and made the session feel very natural. We had some great conversations while walking around the lake and finding different spots for photos. Hunter is a genuinely nice guy, and it was a pleasure getting to know him a bit during his session. Hayes's newborn photos - Interview with Mom - Topeka's Best Newborn Photographers

Hayes was such a beautiful baby boy! He had lots of hair and was so peaceful and chill, which made our job so much fun. Even though he slept most of the time, every once in a while he would peek his eyes open and give us the funniest little looks. You could tell right away that he had a lot of personality. Mom and Dad are completely smitten with him—they just can’t get over how cute he is! I’m so excited about how these photos turned out. This session was actually a practice for one of our newer assistants learning baby wrapping, and Hayes was the perfect little model to help her learn. Baby Penelope was absolutely adorable and had a full head of beautiful hair that everyone noticed right away. Her mom was completely crazy about her, and it was so sweet to see the love between them during the session. Penelope was such a calm baby most of the time, which made the whole experience feel very relaxed and peaceful. Even when she had a few little fussy moments here and there, she settled right back down and kept everyone smiling. One of my favorite things about Penelope was how expressive she was. She gave us the cutest little smiles, tiny smirks, and even some sweet cooing sounds while we photographed her. Those little moments made the session feel extra special. Kyren was truly one of the most chill babies we’ve ever photographed. From the moment he came in, he was calm, sweet, and just went with the flow. He has so much hair and gave us the cutest little expressions throughout the session. Honestly, he made our job so easy. He let us move him, pose him, and try different setups without a fuss. Sessions like that are such a gift, and we were able to capture some really beautiful images of him. This was also one of the sessions where our new assistants were getting some hands-on practice, and they had the best time working with Kyren. How to Prepare for a Photo Session - Topeka's Best Family Portrait Photographers

Select outfits that will make for a timeless portrait. Choose practical clothing items, and keep the location and time of year in mind.  Select clothing items and accessories that are not too distracting or that you will have to adjust often during the session (think long necklaces or ruffled tops on a windy day).  Keep in mind the weather, wind speed, and humidity/chance of rain.  If you have littles, bring them some snacks to help give them incentives during the session.  This can help us to get kids to cooperate and make or break a session.  If it is windy, wear your hair up.  Trimming your bangs/hair slightly to keep them out of your eyes is a great idea, too! Use product like mousse, gel, pomade, and hairspray to tame your mane!    Pick shoes that will be easy to walk in at the location of the session.  For example, high heels are not recommended for sunflower shoots, but would look great in an urban/downtown ...

Catalina was such a sweet little baby and an absolute natural in front of the camera. She made our job so easy with her calm, laid-back personality, and her full head of hair was impossible not to notice! We got some beautiful shots of her by herself and some adorable family photos with her proud mom and dad. It was such a joy to capture these first moments with her family. Interview with Adrian Romero - Topeka West Class of 2026 - Topeka's Best Senior Portraits

Adrian is a senior at Topeka West, graduating with the Class of 2026. She’s been playing soccer since 3rd grade, and her love for the game really showed during her session. She’s confident, driven, and full of energy—and on top of that, incredibly photogenic with a beautiful, bright smile. We spent a lot of time focusing on her passion for soccer, and it was clear how much it means to her. At the end of the session, we headed out to the water at Shawnee Lake, just in time for the most incredible sunset. The sky lit up in a rich orange glow, giving us the perfect backdrop.
