Interview with Emberly Connell - Hayden High Class of 2027 - Topeka's Best Senior Portraits

We had such a great time photographing Emberly’s senior pictures! We started the session at Four Corners, where the rustic buildings and warm evening sunlight gave us the perfect backdrop for some amazing portraits. Emberly was a natural in front of the camera from the very beginning. Her smile came so easily, and she looked completely comfortable throughout the session. Her mom was there the whole time helping out and cheering her on, which made the experience even more fun.

After that, we headed to Osage County Fishing Lake, where the skies absolutely stole the show. We photographed in the fields, along the gravel paths, and around the lake, but my favorite images came when we moved down to the water. Emberly looked beautiful standing along the shoreline and even stepping into the water for some truly unforgettable photos. The final images of the evening were especially stunning. The sky turned into soft shades of pink, purple, and blue, creating a cotton-candy sunset that was simply breathtaking. Watching Emberly splash the water while the sun set behind her made for the perfect ending to an incredible senior session.

T.H. Peterson: What classes are you most excited about this coming year?
Emberly: Math and cosmetology.

T.H. P.: What kind of student are you?
Emberly: Student athlete, honor roll.
T.H. P.: What are your plans after high school?
Emberly: Either go play softball or basketball in college, or go start working in a salon as a cosmetologist.
T.H. P.: What makeup or hair hack do you have to make you look your best or get nice results effortlessly?
Emberly: Buying the good quality products with my cosmetology license.
T.H. P.: What is something you liked about your session with us?
Emberly: Helped me with what poses to do.
T.H. P.: What makes you feel confident?
Emberly: My athletic ability.
T.H. P.: What kind of movies do you like to watch?
Emberly: Animated or horror.

T.H. P.: Who is on your playlist daily?
Emberly: Taylor Swift or Chris Brown.

T.H. P.: Favorite thing mom cooks?
Emberly: Monster cookies.
T.H. P.: What would people be surprised to learn about you?
Emberly: Despite being strong and very athletic, I am a very gentle and kind person. I also love Jesus!

Some senior sessions just feel like they fit the person perfectly, and that was definitely the case with this one. We headed out to his family’s property and used the farm as the backdrop for his photos. Between the old barns, weathered buildings, vintage tractor, his truck, and of course his horse, there was no shortage of great locations. We even got a few photos with his uncle and their horses, which added a really meaningful touch to the session. The weather was beautiful, and everything came together to create that classic country feel. As a cowboy, he looked completely at home in every photo. Lillian and Brendon's beautiful wedding day - Gorgeous Rustic Kansas Wedding

Brendon and Lillian's wedding day was one we won't soon forget. Tucked away on a beautiful family property deep in the woods, their ceremony felt like something out of a storybook. Earlier in the week, everyone was keeping a close eye on the weather and preparing for the possibility of rain, but the skies cooperated perfectly. We were even treated to some sunshine throughout the day, making the already gorgeous setting feel even more magical. From the moment the day began, there was a mix of excitement, nerves, laughter, happy tears, and all the emotions that make wedding days so special. Interview with Janae Bainbridge - Class of 2027 - Topeka's Best Senior Portraits

Janae is such a great example of why I love senior sessions so much. Since she’s homeschooled, we had the flexibility to do an extra long session and really bring a lot of creative ideas to life. Honestly, I was completely blown away the entire time. She is not only beautiful and incredibly photogenic, but she also brought so many great ideas of her own to the session. Janae is both a ballerina and a basketball player, and we were able to build a session that showed both sides of who she is. We finished the evening out on the Kansas River with the most beautiful sunset behind her, and it was the perfect ending to an already amazing session. One of the biggest highlights for me was photographing her ballet photos at the Topeka Performing Arts Center. Wyatt Robert's Newborn Session - Interview with Mom - Topeka's Best Newborn Photographers

Sweet little Wyatt was in the studio for his newborn session, and what a joy he was to photograph. Mom told me he weighed over nine pounds at birth, and he was definitely a chunk! He had the cutest blonde hair and even gave us several little smiles and smirks during the session. He was such a sweet baby, and we were able to create some really precious images that I know his family will treasure for years to come. One thing that made this session especially meaningful for me was seeing Wyatt's dad as a father. More than 10 years ago, I photographed his senior pictures, and now here he is holding his newborn son. Life has a way of moving fast. Wyatt is also the very first grandbaby on both sides of the family, so you know he's going to be absolutely spoiled with love. We had such a great time photographing Mia for her senior portraits! She is a talented senior from Shawnee Heights and one of those people who is just naturally photogenic. She brought so much personality to her session with lots of beautiful smiles, great expressions, and some really amazing outfits. Her dogs joined us for part of the session, which made things even more fun. We started at Shawnee Lake and later headed downtown, finishing up around the Cyrus Hotel and the Capitol. Even though the weather wasn't ideal and we had to deal with some rain, Mia absolutely shined in every location. Athena’s senior session was seriously amazing from start to finish. She goes to Cair Paravel Latin High School, and she is one of those people who is just naturally photogenic. Every smile, every expression, every angle — she looked incredible in every single photo. She’s such a sweet young lady and was so easy to photograph because she felt completely relaxed in front of the camera. We started at the capitol and then headed downtown where we found an alley that gave us some really fun and edgy shots. After that, we made our way to Shawnee Lake and the gardens where the evening light was absolutely perfect. One of my favorite moments was getting photos of Athena standing in a fountain in her dress. Those images turned out so unique and beautiful. Meghan was so much fun to photograph during her senior session. We started out at Truckhenge and finished up at Iliff Commons, and she made the whole experience really easy and enjoyable. She has a great personality, an awesome smile, and she’s just very natural in front of the camera. We also got to include her little pup, which always adds a fun and personal touch to the session. Even though we were shooting in the middle of the day, we were still able to find some really beautiful light throughout both locations. Hannah was so much fun to photograph for her senior session at Ward Meade Park . One of the coolest parts of the day was when she showed me a photo we had taken of her when she was little. Even though it had been years, I actually remembered photographing her, which made for a fun trip down memory lane. Hannah has a bright personality and an amazing smile, and she was incredibly photogenic from the moment we started. Her mom came along for the session too, and it was great getting to spend some time with both of them. It was a warm day, but Hannah handled it like a pro. As a dancer, she knows how to bring energy and confidence in front of the camera, and it definitely showed in her photos. She wore two great outfits during the session. My first impression of Xavier was how confident he seemed and how mature he seemed for his age. Sure he joked around and had a great sense of humor but he seemed very confident and sure of himself. Mom later told me he's like an old man. I can see it. He's a good guy, I can tell. He's been through a lot and I think that's helped cultivate him into the young man he is. It was an absolute pleasure photographing him and sincerely one of the best sessions I've photographed in a long time. I am so happy with the results. We recently had the pleasure of photographing sweet little Kinslee, and what a fun session it was! Mom and Dad were so excited to capture this special time in their lives, and their joy was easy to see throughout the entire session. Kinslee was absolutely adorable and seemed to love being in front of the camera. She even gave us a few precious little smiles and smirks that made everyone in the room melt. One of our favorite parts of the session was watching Mom and Dad with their baby girl. Every little thing Kinslee did brought big smiles to their faces, and it was clear how much they adore her.
