Kylee Chenoweth - St. Mary's 2012 High School Senior - Trash the Dress Session - Topeka, Scranton, Burlingame, KS, Kansas Senior Portrait Photographer


Okay, so trashing dresses is the thing right now. I presented the idea to Kylee and her reaction was 100% totally down to get crazy. What I love about doing this is the possibilities of creativity are endless. If getting dirty and messing up your clothes, hair and makeup don't bother you, then what restrictions are there when we throw a senior into a scene? Well, the results are absolutely crazy! I totally loved our session and Kylee is such a trooper. She had crazy amounts of insane shots, but here are some of my personal favorites!


Yes, this is mud and water. One of our awesome photographers Monica took this one. I LOVE THIS SHOT!!!



One of my absolute favorite shots of the session, if not from any senior session we've ever done I think. The mood, scene, pose, everything came together for such a powerful image in my opinion.



The awesomeness just does not stop! All four photographers were on site to capture at least part of this session. Matt took most of these images and I think they look absolutely amazing!

Now this was a special session! It's not often we photograph multiples for newborn sessions but these little girls were just perfect and despite them being born several months ago, because they were so premature they photographed just like brand new newborns! How to Prepare for a Photo Session - Topeka's Best Family Portrait Photographers

Select outfits that will make for a timeless portrait. Choose practical clothing items, and keep the location and time of year in mind.  Select clothing items and accessories that are not too distracting or that you will have to adjust often during the session (think long necklaces or ruffled tops on a windy day).  Keep in mind the weather, wind speed, and humidity/chance of rain.  If you have littles, bring them some snacks to help give them incentives during the session.  This can help us to get kids to cooperate and make or break a session.  If it is windy, wear your hair up.  Trimming your bangs/hair slightly to keep them out of your eyes is a great idea, too! Use product like mousse, gel, pomade, and hairspray to tame your mane!    Pick shoes that will be easy to walk in at the location of the session.  For example, high heels are not recommended for sunflower shoots, but would look great in an urban/downtown setting.  Bring an extra jacket or cardigan to th

What a handsome little guy! I loved photographing Declan and his session was just perfect! I especially loved capturing the details like his spikey hair. Totally adorable! Hanna, who is a long time client, has recently begun helping us with newborns and it's been a huge blessing not only to our business but to her as well as she has had an opportunity to grow as a photographer herself and practice on getting better at wrapping and posing babies. What a sweet baby! We had a wonderful time with Kayson and his mom and dad. They are so proud of him and you can tell they are going to raise him right and give him lots of love his whole life. We had the most absolutely perfect day for the Popkess family's spring session at Ward Meade. Sadly the tulips are all gone however the lush greenery made a perfect backdrop anywhere we posed this adorable family! Cove was the sweetest little girl. She was so mellow and easy to photograph. She was just the cutest baby. Sierra: Her big brothers name is Cash, so I knew I wanted another one syllable name. When I stumbled upon Cove and said the names together, it was an instant yes.
