We are excited to share Lexi and Dylan's wedding video. No, we haven't quite gotten finished with their wedding photos but we did want to share this beautiful memory of their special day! As some of you are aware, we recently began creating these wedding videos highlighting the emotion and moments of the day. Lexi and Dylan's wedding was laid back and beautiful and the thing that I love about their wedding was how much love these two truly have for one another. It was very special. Now this was a special session! It's not often we photograph multiples for newborn sessions but these little girls were just perfect and despite them being born several months ago, because they were so premature they photographed just like brand new newborns! They were perfect! What a wonderful session and what a special story mom has to tell! T.H. Peterson: What did you think when you found out you were having twins? Taylor.: I was shocked and did not know anything about twins before being pregnant with them. I later found out identical twins are a fluke and do not run in families. It’s been been a learning experience for sure but I would not trade it for the world. T.H. P.: What did you think when you first saw them? Taylor.: Due to complication of twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome, I had the girls via c-section at 29 weeks. My first glance was brief before they were whisked away to the NICU. I remember thinking how small they were (Janie-3.6 lbs & Jovie-2.1 lbs) and how fe
We had the most absolutely perfect day for the Popkess family's spring session at Ward Meade. Sadly the tulips are all gone however the lush greenery made a perfect backdrop anywhere we posed this adorable family! As usual with families with littles the session is really more about them and Autumn just had the cutest smile and expressions. Made our time with them so much fun! Select outfits that will make for a timeless portrait. Choose practical clothing items, and keep the location and time of year in mind. Select clothing items and accessories that are not too distracting or that you will have to adjust often during the session (think long necklaces or ruffled tops on a windy day). Keep in mind the weather, wind speed, and humidity/chance of rain. If you have littles, bring them some snacks to help give them incentives during the session. This can help us to get kids to cooperate and make or break a session. If it is windy, wear your hair up. Trimming your bangs/hair slightly to keep them out of your eyes is a great idea, too! Use product like mousse, gel, pomade, and hairspray to tame your mane! Pick shoes that will be easy to walk in at the location of the session. For example, high heels are not recommended for sunflower shoots, but would look great in an urban/downtown setting. Bring an extra jacket or cardigan to th

Destrie: I have always loved the name Diego, and so I knew when I had a second boy he would have that name. T.H. P.: What does big bro think? Destrie: His brother is in total awe of him. What a handsome little guy! I loved photographing Declan and his session was just perfect! I especially loved capturing the details like his spikey hair. Totally adorable! Elizabeth: Mom heard it and it was between Declan and Cooper up until the day after he was born and Daddy changed his mind last minute and went with mom’s choice. T.H. P.: Who does he look like? Hanna, who is a long time client, has recently begun helping us with newborns and it's been a huge blessing not only to our business but to her as well as she has had an opportunity to grow as a photographer herself and practice on getting better at wrapping and posing babies. She is growing by leaps and bounds and I am so thankful to have her on our team! She's someone I always appreciate having around! What a sweet baby! We had a wonderful time with Kayson and his mom and dad. They are so proud of him and you can tell they are going to raise him right and give him lots of love his whole life. Cove was the sweetest little girl. She was so mellow and easy to photograph. She was just the cutest baby. It was a lot of fun coming up with poses for her and getting detail shots and images of her with her brother and mom! These are just some of our favorites!! Thanks for checking out Cove's session. During our first moments together, she just stared at me and was so calm, I couldn’t have fallen more in love. T.H. P.: How did you come up with her name? Sierra: Her big brothers name is Cash, so I knew I wanted another one syllable name. When I stumbled upon Cove and said the names together, it was an instant yes. She’s already gotten the nickname of Coco as well, which is so cute. T.H. P.: What is life like with a new baby in the house? Sierra: It honestly has been a huge adjustment, but way smoother than I had imagined. Cash is 5 and he’s been super helpful and sweet
